The staff was great, and the breakfast was very good. The gentleman who was serving me during breakfast was amazing and very attentive. The pool was nice, and I really liked the overall look of the hotel — it has a lot of history and charm. What I did not like: the condition of the carpet, which had dark spots in several areas. Also, the TV was positioned on the side of the bed, which made it a bit uncomfortable to watch.

Staff was courteous and extremely accommodating. Food was excellent, true taste if south Texas. Balcony views were great.

The hotel has charm as a historical building. The room was decent but lacked any historical quality that could have made the stay feel special. The carpet is old and dirty and the bathroom floor was also in need of an update. The shower had low pressure and the tub and walls gave the impression that they hadn’t been cleaned in a while.

I had an outstanding experience during my stay. From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The check-in process was smooth, the property was clean and well maintained, and the room was comfortable, quiet, and exactly what I needed. What stood out most was the level of service. Everyone I interacted with made me feel taken care of, and it is clear this hotel takes pride in creating a great guest experience. The location was convenient, the amenities were solid, and the overall atmosphere made the stay easy and enjoyable. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-run place with excellent customer service.

I travel once a month or so to visit family in the Rio Grande Valley, and I will be staying at Casa de Palmas exclusively from now on. This historic hotel is absolutely beautiful and fully modernized and updated. The courtyards and pool area are beautifully landscaped and well-maintained. I had a room on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the pool courtyard. It was peaceful and idyllic. Also, I appreciate that there is a parking garage - it gets pretty hot in the RGV, and my car was in the shade the entire time. I WILL be back! LOVE IT!

A much improved overall visit from the last time I was there. From the front desk welcome, to questions answered over the phone, to great conversations with the Bartender, Casa de Palmas has really stepped up to be a world-class hotel. I loved my stay and will return soon!

The level of cleanliness was not what I expected (bathroom and all carpets were in need of better cleaning). The hotel itself is pleasing, but in need of a update (carpets, bathrooms and showers etc). Stayed here to use the pool and that outdoor area is comfortable.

The staff were truly amazing and went far beyond what was expected to make sure my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Everyone was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive throughout my visit. Their level of customer service and hospitality really stood out and made me feel genuinely welcomed. Experiences like this are what make a hotel memorable, and I would gladly stay here again.
