Holiday Inn MCALLEN – MEDICAL CENTER AREA by IHG

The hotel looks old and needs maintenance. The elevator was in really bad condition, and the floor mats smelled old. The pool was dirty and also needs maintenance. There were no large towels available in the pool area. In the room, they only provided two towels even though we were three people.

The lobby smell was horrible. Our room was out of soap. They didn’t vacuum the floors. Hair in the bathtub. No tissues. We asked for replacements and didn’t receive them.

The room was clean and did not have any issues. Check in was easy and the staff is very friendly.

Staff, location to hospital, room, fitness room were all great. The only question/issue was there was no tv in the living area of our suite. I would still stay again.

I arrived at the hotel during posted checkin, but there was no one at the front desk. I waited approximately 30 minutes and no staff member came out. the hotel did not resolve the issue. Because there was no way to check in, I had to leave. Later, when customer service contacted the hotel, staff claimed they were present, which was not my experience. Very disappointing and frustrating situation. They did not refund my money back and was asking for cancellation fee. Even though it was their mistake!

Very nice and clean, friendly staff, overall good stay. Negatives: ice machines on 2nd and 3rd floor were not working, one of the lamps wouldn't turn on, and there's no switch for a fan in the bathroom. What's with that?

Dirty room. Found a used diaper in it. Front desk refuses to assist
