Atour Hotel, Baili Plaza, Meizhou Reviews

As a 'smart' move to avoid the Chinese New Year highway congestion, we checked into this hotel in the center of Meizhou late at night. When we pulled into the parking lot, we noticed that most of the guests checking in that day were from other cities like Guangzhou and Shenzhen, heading back home. Waking up the next morning, we realized the traffic was still terrible, so we decided to explore the local area until evening before heading back. Based on online reviews, this is a relatively new hotel in Meizhou's city center. Given it's part of the large Atour group, I chose it over other hotels that, according to online reviews, had higher ratings but were unfamiliar to me. Big thanks to the thoughtful front desk staff. Even though we checked in past midnight, they had already arranged for two upgraded, adjoining rooms for us in advance. It seems the room types were just incredibly popular during Chinese New Year, so we ended up with a smaller room. Next time, I'll definitely opt for a larger one. Other suggestions, including those for the dining experience and in-room amenities, were quickly and positively addressed when we provided feedback to the front desk. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I'll be back again.
