Don't EVER under any circumstances stay at this hotel!! I was scheduled to stay at this hotel for a religious conference. It brings more than 30, 000 people to the city annually. I arrive to Hotel to check in and find a lobby in total darkness. Some random guy outside smoking says " you gotta go around back". I pull around back and find a entrance. I enter and find again a lobby in total darkness with no staff. I hear a phone ringing off the hook. I think, maybe the staff stepped away. A lot of sketchy people walking around...I wait for about a hour. No staff nowhere. Several other people trying to check in. It's 12AM in the morning. The hotel looks like a half way house or rehab facility run by state or government. After waiting and starting to feel very uncomfortable in this lobby. Luckily I was able to secure a reservation at another property. I'm actually glad no one was there because I would not have been comfortable there anyway! Whatever u do don't book this hotel! It smells awful, homeless people walking around, M.I.A staff/ Management! Just a awful place. I wouldn't allow my dog to spend the night! How are they allowed to operate? Don't bring your children here!!!!!

Dirty place, rooms not serviced properly, tried to work with it until I saw bugs, roaches in the cabinets, at that point I had to go, and tried to work with them on reimbursement for the time I didn't stay and they kept me hanging on for a month just to tell me there's nothing they can do... DO NOT STAY HERE

The building is in disrepair. The front desk staffer, she may be the manager for all I know, is very rude. Simple requests from the guests are taken for granted, and when you question why after 32 hours they couldn't find some shampoo and shower gel to put in the hotel provided containers in the shower, she gets very dismissive and nasty. I asked about her "No Chip" fingernails. She didn't like that because she thought I insinuated that she had a chip on her shoulder. B-i-n-g-o, lady! The guests behind me in line who witnessed my encounter told me a few minutes later that they were very disappointed and the hotel made no attempt to solve their issues either. In the parking lot, the smell of ********* is present. Chances are the spaces near the hotel are occupied, so you'll have to park further down near apartments...and you see and smell more ****. Security is not taken seriously here. The locks are broken on the side and rear door near the parking lot. Anyone on the street can walk through the hotel 24 hours a day. Usually from 10PM to 6AM doors should be locked and a key is needed to enter. Not here! Also, if you see any reference for a breakfast being included, disregard that. There is no breakfast. If you look forward to using the pool, the days I was there at least (8/12 to 8/15), the pool was not open. The room itself was fine, but overall the experience was very bad. Usually I stay in Southaven when I visit Memphis. Next time, I'll be going back there.

We had never stayed at a Sonesta property before, and probably never will again. First, we had booked the room for three adults as we were taking my son to college in New Orleans. We had no linens for the sofa bed and only two sets of towels, so had to go the front desk for that. The pillow cases on all of the pillows were so pilled they were actually scratchy. They should have been replaced a long time ago. The room/suite was clean except for the blob of dried bloody mucus to the immediate right of the headboard on the queen bed. Every single one of the dispensers in the shower was empty. No shampoo, no conditioner, no body wash. We didn't contact the front desk on that one as we had brought some of our own, thankfully. The website for the property very clearly stated that there was "free breakfast including fresh coffee and a variety of breakfast offerings." No coffee, no breakfast, and no one at the front desk at 7:15 a.m. or thereafter (we kept checking), despite a sign saying that the front desk was "closed until 7:00 a.m." There was a vending machine in what appeared to be the breakfast area that had four processed shrink-wrapped danishes. That was the only thing we saw that resembled breakfast. One of the reasons we booked the room was the breakfast included so we could get right on the road again in the morning. When we left around 9:00 a.m. that morning, no one had yet shown up at the front desk. Not doing a Sonesta again.

First time staying at Sonesta. After arriving later than expected due to a flight delay, I was given the last available room, handicap accessible. Given it was after midnight, I took the room. Nicely decorated room refreshed from previous ownership, Residence Inn. Parking in the back and concerned that back entrance remained unlock as key access was broken. That presents a serious concern for safety and security. Contrary to what is advertised, there is NO breakfast served and hasn't since the beginning of the pandemic. This needs to be removed from the website and other sites. Hotel is geared to extended stay travelers as shared by front desk staff. Noticed pileup of trash inside and outside, not good gven how hot is was in Memphis. Quiet during the day and evening. Overall, hotel has a lot of potential and still in the process of transforming.

This was not what we expected of a Sonesta property. Even after calling several times prior to our visit to ensure everything was in order, they failed. Let me first mention, we did not know this was a franchise location. The pool and fitness room closed, several entry points were not accessible from the outside (even with key), and breakfast is not served. Prior to arrival we requested our 2 rooms were to be on the first floor due to handicap parents. We arrived at 3:37pm to learn they were on the 3rd floor. Denitra at the front desk stated don't worry about it. We will move you to 105 and 107, they needed to be clean first. I said we will go to lunch and come back. Upon returning, we were told our rooms were 111 and 117. FINE! We get to the rooms, one smells like cigarettes the other smells like *********. Someone sprayed our rooms. FINE!! To prepare for the night, we asked for towels and bedding for the pullout. Front desk stated housekeeping left for the night and they were out. They appeared as if this to be normal. I than asked, what should I do? Go to walmart to buy pillows, blanket, sheets, and towels? At this point, I need management. Room was not stocked with soap, shampoo, nor conditioner. We had dirty smelly clothes left in the drawer. There are alot of long term guest they service first. We talked to off site management and he managed to go to Walmart to buy us pillows and someone washed towels. Still only one blanket. NO one at the location can assist you. Employees park in handicap parking spots. Be warned.

We had two rooms for four adults for two nights, one room was full of tiny insects, both rooms lacked coffee , toilet roll , sugar , glasses, we asked for these things once we checked in. Also the keys didn’t work , the was no pool no breakfast no coffee in the lobby, we asked for extra pillows was told the are no more pillows. All these questions and requests where fielded by a lady who was so unbelievably rude, we where so offended by her attitude, she said to my 78 year old mum “ you people need to understand I’m busy “ when she asked what was missing in the room. I emailed the manager that night and never got a response. Stay away from this hotel , I will say say that a guy on the night staff called Dyson was very nice , he was the one that got us coffee new sheets a pillow.

Issues at this hotel: - key card machine not working so after 5 tries with keys not working, front desk staff said he will have to let me back in my room any time I need to leave - phone not working in the room - no curtain on window in bedroom portion and the room overlooks the lobby; lights on all night obviously so no sleep - room and common areas of hotel not very clean - advertised breakfast but there was no breakfast or even coffee - no bottle water available; vending machines empty - pool closed without notice - front desk staff (morning) was rude Redeeming qualitites: - room cost was refunded - front desk staff (night staff) was friendly and helpful I am a Sonesta loyalty whatever member (Silver) and this is the last straw. I have had negative experiences at other Sonesta locations but this was the worst by far. I just can't.
