Gran Hotel Panamericana, Mérida

DO NOT STAY HERE. It is a trap. They post the photos of the nice areas. We did not have hot water for our entire four days and the team did not care to follow up. We requested a refund and again, we didn’t have an update on this. There was no conditioner we only had three towels when the booking was made for four and when the 4th towel was requested, it never arrived. They delete the bad reviews and they Will block you on instagram if you share your experience

What a great hotel! I inmediately felt at home after being welcomed by the friendy staff. This hotel has a lot of grandeur and takes you back to the past.

This hotel is new and is a fabulous find in a very busy place. It is peace but easy to walk to the action. The rooms are excellent, beds very comfortable and the cleanliness is first class. The staff were very helpful and professional Cruz on the desk in reception was helpful and gave us an excellent welcome to the hotel. An oasis. Thank you

3 night stay, the building is very grand and original part appears to be in restoration work. Breakfast is ok, very basic with Mexican buffet but there is toast and pancakes on offer too. Note there wasn’t enough lids so something was always cold. It appeared everyone was having toast and there were only 2 toasters, which was nowhere near enough for the long wait times to use them. Pool is unfortunately in the shade which is a shame when there is a car park and unused roof terrace which gets lots of sun. Toiletries and coffee were not topped up during stay. Didn’t think staff were particularly friendly you had to say hi to them before they would say it to you. Rooms were good. I recommend this hotel if you come into it knowing it’s of a very basic standard. WiFi is also very poor.

The hotel is four blocks from the city center, which is a bit more than expected. Walking at night to the hotel is not the most convenient walk. The grandeur of the hotel has been more in the past. There is a large pool. The rooms are very spacious. The beds are very comfortable. A Mexican breakfast is served at the pool’s terrace. The staff is really struggling to cope with the service especially during breakfast. The WiFi is poor.

This hotel is well-located, about 10 minutes walk from the Centro Historico. The rooms are spacious and well-kept, quiet and pretty. There are beautiful views from the balconies, and the pool is just beautiful. Although they do not currently serve food, there are nearby places to eat. Pablo was particularly helpful and knowledgeable.
