The only truly good thing about this hostel is its phenomenal location right next to the cathedral — that part is perfect 🇲🇽👍
The view from the rooftop bar on the 6th floor is also really nice 🌆
Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end 😕
The rooms are microscopic, and the bathroom is basically the size of an airplane toilet.
Theoretically you can exchange towels, but in practice they rarely have clean ones available.
Theoretically there’s laundry service, but the dryer has been broken the whole time.
Breakfast is honestly terrible — a tiny portion of scrambled eggs (barely enough for a baby), disgusting margarine that’s almost impossible to eat, and coffee that’s undrinkable. When I politely asked for a bit more eggs, I got a very unfriendly refusal.
One more thing I really don’t like: at reception you’re greeted by a big LGBT pride flag and similar symbols. Of course the hotel will probably reply that they “don’t exclude anyone” and “everyone is welcome.” Theoretically maybe, but in practice they are actively promoting an ideology that excludes conservative people, people who believe in what’s written in the Bible — that God created man and woman, and that love outside of that is a sin.
If I return to Mexico City, I definitely won’t stay here again.
This is not hate — I really like Mexico and Mexicans 🇲🇽❤️ — it’s just an objective review of my stay. I hope they make some improvements in the future🙏
