The Goodtime Hotel, Miami Beach, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Beautifully decorated! We were offered champagne upon check-in. The only downfall is that the pool closed at 8p on a Thursday. I’m the hotel is very close to lots of dining, shopping and South Beach.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location — the property itself is stylish, spotless, and right in the heart of Miami Beach. I’d happily recommend it on looks and setting alone. My frustration is entirely with the billing. At check-in I was told my card would only be pre-authorized $200 for incidentals. Instead I was charged $235.69 — and it turned out $144.49 of that was for a room night I had already fully prepaid through the booking platform. In other words, I was billed twice for the same night. Only the $91.20 resort fee was actually owed at the property. What genuinely surprised me is that this happened at a Tribute Portfolio / Marriott-affiliated property. I expect this level of billing accuracy and transparency to be part of the brand standard, and being double-charged for a night I’d already paid — after being told it was only a $200 hold — fell far short of that. It took hours of back-and-forth across multiple support chats to get it acknowledged and refunded. I appreciate that it was eventually corrected, but it should never have happened. If you book here, check your folio carefully against your prepayment. Gorgeous property — but the checkout billing experience was stressful and needs fixing.

I was a little disappointed on how small the room was and I was a bit confused on how to get to my room after getting off in the elevator I think you should put a sign on the door that says enter here especially for first timers thats not familiar. But otherwise staff was nice room was clean location was ok.

Absolutely shocking experience. I was charged $500 for an alleged smoking violation despite neither myself nor my partner smoking or smoking in the room at any point during our stay. What makes this even worse is that I was never informed of the charge at check-out. I was not given a final bill, nothing was discussed with me, and the money was simply taken from my account without my knowledge or consent. I only became aware after the payment had been processed. When I disputed the charge, my emails went unanswered and the customer service was completely unprofessional. I was informed by a member of staff that the hotel’s two owners are aware of the ongoing complaints regarding these smoking charges and that guests are often told to recover their money through their credit card provider rather than the hotel dealing with the issue directly. Seeing the number of similar reviews from other guests, this does not appear to be an isolated incident. Being charged $500 without any discussion at check-out and then having to fight to get your money back is completely unacceptable and has seriously damaged my trust in this hotel. If you’re planning to stay here, check every charge carefully, insist on a final bill before leaving, and monitor your bank account for unexpected deductions. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

Hotel is beautiful. Note that weekends they have pool parties with loud music and selective seating. But great property
