Sonder - Grove 27

The Sonder team made a huge mistake and lost my reservation in their system. I had already landed in Miami and had no choice but to take them up on their very substandard offer to relocate 20 minutes away in this hotel. given it was a fully booked weekend (Bitcoin conference was in town) I had no choice. They admitted their mistake but chose not to put me near the hotel (for more money they could have put me in an adjacent hotel) but instead to put me 20 minutes away so that I had to UBer in for everything. Since the conference had 50k people driving in was a disaster and I was late for several events. To make matters worse, they didn’t allow late check out. To be fair, Everyone was nice and tried to be helpful, but I found they had no power to do right by their customers. For that reason, buyer beware.

Before I even checked in I received two emails from the property management company regarding construction noise for the entire week and internet outage with no ETA. It was a huge issue for me as I was meant to be working remotely during the week. Construction noise was something I could deal with but without internet I could not check in until 8 PM (I arrived 10 AM). I had to find a public library which was a huge inconvenience with luggage etc. Two days later same issue with internet outage for the entire building. Come weekend I received another notification about the elevator being out of service until Monday. Another major problem because it was the only time I have off to actually enjoy my first time trip to Miami with my wheelchair bound mother. We were offered a more convenient way in but that still did not address the disabled guest situation. Suffice to say the apartment is great but with all the issues that plagued us during this week long stay, I wish I would have stayed somewhere else.
