It’s a nice, smaller size resort with a lot of great entertainment. The pool is nice, the beach offers a long stretch of walking both ways. The sand is nice but very fine making water foggy. You can’t snorkel but swimming is great. There are a lot of activities happening at the beach and the pool, including fun games, Zumba, yoga, you name it, that staff work hard to create and entertain for all ages. Free of use paddle boards, kayaks, sailboats are amazing addition to stay active in the water. The food selection is good with lots of fish, different kind of meats. The entertainment in the evening is incredible with new themes daily, great shows and party that is also family-friendly. The bar service is slow but you get your drink eventually. It’s day 3 for us and we’re having a great time relaxing, enjoying long walks, swimming time and playing games.

I love all the aspects of the resort! The restaurants, the buffet, the rooms, the snack bar, and the bars, are all very well kept, organized, and very clean. But what I love the most is the animation team. They are the heart of the Resort. The whole animation team is very special, they spend time with the guests, and they are very polite and fun to be with. The activities are great! I enjoy my stay and recommend it. We were a family of six and were well treated and did not have a single problem. The food is delicious! The beach is stunning and the sundown is amazing.

First the good stuff: Resort is beautiful and well layed out. Beach is fabulous, ample loungers for everyone and plenty of shade available. Rooms lovely, beds awesome and pillows are A+. Hot water, great showers etc. Although the resort is really nice, service is lacking. The buffet has ample food and choice but anything not cooked in front of you is barely warm and cold by the time you get back to your table. The service is very disorganized with waiters walking passed you not noticing that you don't have utensils or cups for coffee/tea. I found this frustrating every time I went in there. The bar service at the beach is slow and disorganized. Loads of people behind the bar but lots of chatter amongt them and they don't seem to notice there are people lined up waiting. The oceon is not good for snorkeling because of the churn of sand so the visibility is zero. Good for swimming though. As a new resort, they should have more experienced employees guiding the newly hired ones. I will not go back to this resort because of the service but I would think it will improve over time. Mix of guest I would estimate was 50% Italian, 40% Quebec and 10% other (Cdn English, Argentinians etc)

This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic and it was underwhelming at best. We have traveled to many places in the Caribbean before and thought we would try a brand new resort to see how it could be. The group we travel with are pretty easy going and do not complain but this resort fell short in quite a few places. Our travels started bad due to mechanical issues with our flight which put us back one day. As soon as we knew we were going to be late we contacted the resort, and they told us to have our booking agent notify them of our late arrival. We did that and our booking agent said they couldn't get a hold of anyone but left 4 messages. We also contacted the resort again on our own and had them put a note in or booking to let them know. When we finally got to the resort a day late they informed us that they gave away our rooms because we did not contact them on the late arrival. We showed them the emails proving contact and after sitting in the lobby for 2 hours we were given rooms. My wife and I were upgraded to a plunge pool room, 1 friend was given the ocean view room he paid for, and the other 3 were given rooms with a garden view. They had to go back the next day to be moved to the ocean view rooms that they paid for. The plunge room sounded like a nice upgrade but it was in the back corner of the resort with no view of the ocean, and had a strong chemical smell from the recent construction. We ended up sleeping with the sliding door open each evening to help with the odor, but did not feel the most comfortable with an open door that anyone could walk up to while we slept since we were next to a path. Also the finishes of the room seemed very rushed and not as refined as you would expect from a nice resort. Our other problems with the resort was that the mosquitos are awful. It was our fault for not bringing bug spray but then when we went to purchase some from the gift shop the resort had it priced at $29 USD a can. The food in the buffet seemed prepared well before it was brought out and lukewarm. They did have fresh items of meats they would serve which was nice and their selection of fresh bread, cheese, and fruits was always very good. The last complaint we had was the sea water. We laughed reading reviews before we came about people complaining about the water, but after getting here you really lose the feeling of a Caribbean vacation when you don't have the beautiful turquoise waters and instead cloudy green water where your ankles are being bit by things you cannot see. There are positives of this resort though. Most all of the staff that we met were fantastic. We had a great time with the bartenders and they made great drinks. Shout out to Yimy, Christopher, Oscar, Jendry, Catalina, and Manuela. We were also able to try the 4 a la carte restaurants and were not disappointed. Each one had very good food and service was great to. Also, the beds and pillows were very comfortable at this resort. I w

Viva Miches is about 1.5 hours from the Punta Cana airport. Resort location is very nice, mountains all around, nice beach, great for walking with no vendors around, except for the Viva vendors, and they can be pushy. Check in went fine, the room was ok. In your room you can hear people talking in the hallway, next door, on the patios, slamming, banging doors, poor (NO) soundproofing. Beach chairs are always available, probably because the resort isn't yet completed. Drink service on the beach is hit or miss, you basically have to get your own drinks, and it is very slow. Most of the food at the restaurant buffet was ok. Language was a definite problem for us. Wish we spoke or understood Spanish.

We had the honour to be the first couple who got married at the hotel. We are so grateful for the perfect organisation. The wedding organiser, Frederica took care even the small details, we truly felt us as VIP guests and the biggest surprise was, that the ceremony was in our native language, thanks to Eszter. The 11 days, what we spent at the hotel gave us unforgettable memories.

First and foremost is the beach. It may not be the white sand and turquoise water depicted in some of the advertising pictures used to promote this resort, but on sunny days it is a beautiful emerald green. The sand is fine and soft which is free from ocean sediment. A golden colour similar to Playa Dorado in Puerto Plata. The plastics you see on the shores are being washed up from the ocean and cannot be controlled by the resort especially when it is kilometres from the resort. The resort itself is trying to accommodate all varieties of people however just falling short. Language barriers seem to be the most prevalent. The resort is new and for the most part the workers are new to the Service industry, so if you are looking for a well established resort with experienced staff this will not be the resort for you. Patience is definitely a must. The food is nothing extravagant, typical food you find in any resort, however the 4 restaurants have great food and the menus are diverse enough to please anyone. Again please be patient with the staff. They have experienced trainers that have been brought in from all the other Viva resorts to help with the learning curve. The resort is clean for most part, however the pools should have experienced staff that truly know how to clean it. Sometimes it requires a cleaner to actually get into the pool not just stay on the edge and do the most used areas. The house cleaning staff have their own version of clean and it varies from one day to the next. No consistency and it makes no difference if you mention it or not. Same results. The resort is quiet and remote. If you are looking for a resort for rest and relaxation, this is the place for you. Overall, I would rate this resort as a 3.5 and hopefully it can improve in some of the basic areas.
