This resort is a joke , everything is close or in renovation, we are alone on the resort max 20 people's . Only great thing is the staff try to make your trip good ..thks to Sonia with her smile ! The beach is beautiful.. but the rest is a ghost town.. the food was less than average with not a lot of options.. room service is good .. They try to put us in a room in renovation from start !!! We have to complaints to have a clean room that's juste a joke ..They upgrade us in a nice room after complaining.. really disappointed .gym was close have to complaints so we can use it ...no activity we have to complaints to have some .. everything is about complaining there .. juste 2 restaurant every other are close like everything.. But staff always to try their best ..a lot of workers on the resort try to fix things .... I will not recommand this resort maybe when everything will be fix but for now they juste want the money

This was such a phenomenal experience. The resort is gorgeous, the staff and service were exceptional, and the all around vibe was amazing. We felt like absolute royalty staying here with such amazing service. The food and entertainment was great also! 10/10 would recommend.

Overall experience 7/10 Food 7/10 Entertainment 3/10 Service 7/10 Value for price 4/10 I booked a week-long last minute trip from May 1st to the 8th, 2024 (Wednesday). Single occupancy at 1895$CAD. Booked with Sunwing. Purpose of the trip: hoing through grief and challenges. Needed some time to resource and reflect. I am hoping this review can be helpful for - new travelers - travelers interested in Sunrise Miches - cis-het AFAB solo travelers Finding the Sunwing representatives in the airport was easy and efficient. They directed me to the right bus. Locals will try to sell you all kinds of things on your way there. Also, the bus drivers will push each other to get your luggage and blatantly ask for a tip. The resort itself is 1h25 minutes away from the airport. The bus I was in had free wifi, which was welcomed since I was the only one there. Although nobody has control over the weather, it is pertinent to advise that it rained a lot, every day. Sunrise Miches used to be a Temptations and Desires (swingers and singles resorts) and have been purchased my the Marriott group. There are still remnants of the resorts old life, notably in some of the staffs behavior. My first impression of the resort left me puzzled. After the rain cleared up I walked around the resort for over 30 minutes without crossing paths with a single person. No travelers, workers. Everything on the biggest side (the big pool in the middle of the colored buildings) was closed. So even if my room was located on that side of the hotel, there was no service and I needed to walk to the smaller side for food/ beverages/ entertainment. Mind you it is about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on where you are located in the colored rooms. It is inconvenient when it is raining (a lot) Most of the resort is being renovated, so it is not uncommon to find wet paint warnings, workers all over the place and some banging. At any given moment, I would say that we were 30 at most on the whole resort. Not a typo. The number went considerably up since locals rented for the weekend. (Fri through Sun) Dropped right back to 30ish people. The up side is that you do not wait for drinks, food or have trouble finding a lounge chair in the sun, or in the shade, or both simultaneously. The down side, for a shy cis-het AFAB solo traveler is that you are an easy target. And they are relentless, even when asked to be left alone. There was also a single traveler who had been there for a while that was constantly out of line. (I am aware this has nothing to do with the resort itself, except that I wished someone would have stepped in) This situation, combined with the intense rain in the evening, made me stay in my room for every evening (except the last) and order room service. I felt part of my trip was stolen from me. Since there are barely any people at the resort, not all restaurants are open. Usually only one is open each day. The breakfast and lunch buffets are decent but redundant. Does t

This place was AMAZING! I'm usually pretty reserved for reviews and skeptical about the ones I read online but believe us when I say this place is The Best!! The staff is SO friendly! They have plain clothes staff that just goes around to make sure you're having a great time, hype up the dance floor, tell you great places to go, etc. The swim-up room we had was fantastic!! SO much is included here!! You could go to this resort and never leave and experience something new EVERY DAY! Restaurants, disco, tons of different pools, shops, and everything here is so beautiful and well taken care of. I couldn't recommend this place enough, it's worth your drive from the airport. We Will Come Back!!

Everything the Steve mentioned is 99% correct...I think there was only 200 kids. They partied all night long, informed management and staff but they didn't care. Furthermore the food is horrible.....don't go to this resort!!@...you have been warned

This resort is quite far from anything. If you don’t intend to leave the resort then it won’t matter to you. It’s on a nice beach, but certainly not as nice as many of the others we saw. The staff is their best asset, happy, friendly and attentive. Room was very nice with comfy bed and big bathroom and the couch on the balcony was a nice touch. The music drove me and many other people I spoke to crazy. No matter where you walk there is always a beat pounding in your head. What ever happened to peace and quiet! Even at the quiet pool we were still subjected to their music all day. The food was okay in the restaurants, but the service was slow, making it difficult to eat before 9pm if you didn’t make the first sitting. I had a hard time finding anything good at the buffet, so went to the coffee shop for breakfast. We had a nice week, but we got a car so we could get out! I think we are just not all inclusive type vacationers.

From the time I arrived everything was perfect. The checkin was quick and efficient. The grounds are well kept as are the buildings themselves. You could see staff constantly cleaning and wiping down pretty much everything. The resort is beautiful, the wifi works everwhere but on the beach. The food was great. Any staff we saw were always smiling, friendly and helpful. Went for a walk off resort up the beach and again any of the locals we met were always very friendly, I felt very safe there. Beach was beautiful with plenty of beach chairs. The people doing activities were fun... I really don't know what to say other than it was perfect.

My wife and I just spent a week at this resort in which I have to say was an amazing vacation. This resort is nicely designed and very clean. The staff are the best , they go far and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and well looked after during your stay . The entertainment team are excellent!! , and work very hard to ensure you enjoy activities throughout the day and evenings. The food and room service is excellent as well. We have been to a lot of resorts over the years so I wanted to comment and say that this one is one the best we visited.

What a great vacation beautiful beach great service. Would like to send a huge shout out to the Activities team Mickey Mouse Sue Ellen Adrianna Amber Raul Jeffrey And Venezuela (sorry don't know his name. These guys were amazing and made our trip great with lots of laughs. They went above and beyond to help us out. All the staff were very friendly. When we were there we met a lot of nice people from all over Canada. We loved that you could just get a dry towel when you wanted The beach is gorgeous, Would be nice to have more shade. A suggestion would be to have a washroom closer to beach We felt safe throughout the resort

We stayed at Sunrise, an all adult resort, for 2 weeks and noted below are some Pros and Cons during our stay. PROS Air conditioned room was very clean and comfortable Food was outstanding Awesome and friendly staff Grounds were immaculate and well manicured Nightly entertainment was enjoyable CONS No bathrooms close to the beach. Beach is considered a public beach so there were many many motorists (motorcycles, trucks and cars) travelling up and down the beach all day, every day. 3 friendly local dogs stuck around the beach all day unfortunately when two other dogs appeared, they were both brutally attacked by one of the local dogs. Had it not been for the quick response of tourists, both dogs would have been severely hurt. Not enough covered huts or cabanas on the beach. We checked out at 11am but did not leave the resort until 6pm. We expected to have a room where we could have quickly showered and changed our clothes but this is not offered at Sunrise. The light switches in our room did not work. Either you had all the lights on or off. SUGGESTION: it would be nice to have Dominican music playing around the grounds and at the beach bar

We are very happy with our week spent at this resort (March 20-27)! As the hotel is in transition and renovation, there was very little traffic (maybe 30% occupancy?) All the staff are really very welcoming, helpful and gracious. The premises are clean, the room was spacious and plenty of security on site. The week we were there there were only two restaurants + buffet: we weren't really impressed by the food but we always found interesting things there. Bottled water easily available throughout the site. A really good coffee bar available to everyone. The beach is beautiful and well maintained, the sea water is warm, without sargassum despite a few small twigs the last few days. There is a bar accessible from the beach, which also offers non-alcoholic drinks. We did not benefit from the swimming pools/activities/entertainment (simply because we prefer the calm of the sea) so we cannot comment on this. Overall very quiet as a place - which we particularly appreciated - however with full occupancy as well as the upcoming development in the surrounding area, it may be very different in the coming years

I travel 5 to 7 times a year and am an experienced traveler, but here, we have so many questions regarding the new administration of this hotel that I take notes daily in order to bring you facts and not impressions so that you can make a decision for your next destination. My stay at the Sunrise Miches Hotel in the Dominican Republic was a mixed experience. Although the location is beautiful and offers spectacular surroundings, the service doesn't really match that of a five-star hotel. Indeed, many aspects of the establishment leave something to be desired, which does not allow you to take advantage of the services offered by the Sunrise. Price for 9 days: $2900 from Montreal. Although the price paid has no relation to the service we expect from this type of trip, you should know that other travelers have paid $1500 for 7 days. When we arrived, although the reception staff were very friendly, we had to go back and forth 3 times for our bracelets to work in order to open the door to our room which ultimately did not respect our requests. Too bad to miss this first impression after 13 hours of travel. The management finally offered us an upgrade to a suite with a jacuzzi. First of all, the facilities seem to be improving in the more luxurious section of the Resort and the more colorful part is under major renovation to remove the last traces of the defunct Temptation Resort. Here are a few points that leave me perplexed: -Lack of power outlets to plug in our electronic devices. However, I got an extension cord to plug in my devices; -There is no desk in the living room to work on; the gym equipment is incomplete and the view overlooks the hotel entrance which makes the workout a little disappointing; -There is not hot enough water to enjoy the jacuzzi in our suite unless you like to relax in a cold water bath and the jets are not really powerful so we will only have used it only once; -The service is uneven, and we have to persist for 6 days to get a table for 4 outside the buffet. The intervention of the customer service manager was necessary on several occasions; -The employees discuss among themselves, sometimes argue, ignoring our presence; -Waiting 20 minutes for coffee is a long time, especially when it happens almost every morning. We often have time to eat 1 or 2 plates before having coffee or wine served; -No waiter on the beach, and only one around the pool, but not every day. She serves you as she pleases and can pass in front of you without asking you anything; -The staff lets travelers wildly reserve deck chairs early and only show up a few hours later. A policy p

A beautiful resort, well laid out, excellent food and super friendly and efficient staff. The rooms are luxurious (we stayed in the Grand) and equipped with everything you need. The night shows are great and the disco has a good a**osphere. We will definitely repeat the experience.
