Cityhotel Wood ★★★★

📍 Achter de Houttuinen 8, Middelburg

"A lovely few days staying at the Cityhotel Wood in Middelburg. Large rooms, hotel very clean throughout with fresh and modern interior decoration. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Visited with a large group. Enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant on the first night. Breakfast was varied, fresh and delicious. Located very close to the city centre. Also close to canal and windmills, worth a walk. Would highly recommend. "

Van der Valk Hotel Middelburg ★★★★

📍 Paukenweg 3, Middelburg

"Excellent modern hotel with huge rooms and equally huge bathroom (walk in shower and tub). Hotel staff is very friendly. We opted to have dinner at the restaurant of the hotel because the hotel is not located in the town centre and from previous dinners at a Van der Valk restaurant we knew it's always high quality. The breakfast buffet was also very nice with a huge selection of all sorts of bread, brioches, juices, eggs and spreads. I can recommend this hotel and would stay there again when visiting Middelburg."

"The breakfast restaurant was too crowded, and one hour was a bit tight."

📍 Buitenruststraat 22, Middelburg

"Nice clean and efficient hotel. We arrived after a long day at 2200hrs. Check was quick and efficient. Unfortunately, the food service stopped at 2100hrs but they offered to cook us pizza which was very kind and absolutely delicious. Parking was easy and plentiful. Rooms are clean, well equipped and perfectly functional. I will definitely be using this hotel in the future."

📍 2 Nederstraat, Middelburg

"A midweek break in Zeeland, including two nights at this small hotel in the city center. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a larger room, which is always a great bonus. Despite being in the middle of the city, it was very quiet and we slept well. The bathroom and toilet were nice and modern. Not suitable for people with mobility issues. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, and despite being in the off-season with few guests, it was still a comprehensive breakfast. We really enjoyed Middelburg and Hotel Princenjagt."

Cityhotel Wood ★★★★
"Excellent one night rest stop on a cycling tour of the area. Room was large, like a small suite, very clean and great shower. Buffet breakfast was one of the best. Friendly staff and great location. Covered secure bike storage too under the hotel. Can't fault it. "

Van der Valk Hotel Middelburg ★★★★
"The Van der Valk Middelburg is a delightful hotel, off the motorway near Middelburg. In typical Van der Valk fashion, the hotel is not in central Middelburg, but about 3km away from the station. This gives the hotel a remote feeling and the surroundings are very quiet, despite being very close to a motorway. Check in was very smooth and you could write to the hotel beforehand to let them know if you wanted anything specific in your room (iron etc). The room was large and airy. It had good luggage storage, wardrobe, safe, work desk, comfortable double bed, tv, sofa and nespresso machine - all very new and functional. The bathroom was in two pieces - a large bathroom with two sinks, a walk in shower and a separate bath. There was a separate w/c. This was all very neat and clean, but I had two minor issues with the room. Firstly, there were about a hundred different lights in the room, but even if they were all switched on, the room was very dim. This could have been remedied with one decent light. Second, it was a bit odd that double rooms do not have a double duvet, but two single ones. I used the restaurant and was impressed by the ambiance. The service was friendly and the food was decent enough. The hotel has a 24 hour sales area for water and drinks, if the water in the room is not sufficient. The best think about this hotel is the pool and spa area which guests can use. Beautifully maintained and clean. The pool is indoors, but with glass windows, so gives you the impression of being outside. Lots of sun loungers and the pool is lovely and large, with a waterfall. The spa area has an array of steam rooms, saunas, an ice cave and an ice bath. All beautifully maintained. The hotel is on the more expensive side, but all in all, a great place to stay."

Boutiquehotel The Roosevelt ★★★★
"We had booked the Presidential Suite for our wedding anniversary celebration. We really enjoyed this special room. Plenty of space, a large bed, and a double bathtub plus two rain showers. We also booked the private sauna in the garden. The hotel is located right in the center, opposite the abbey. Friendly staff. Breakfast was served at the table on a platter. The breakfast is a bit of a downside, though. The hotel determines the toppings and the bread rolls. Two slices of cheese for two people is quite little. All in all, a fine stay at this hotel."

Fletcher Hotel De Nieuwe Doelen-Middelburg ★★★★
"Actually, my wife and I stayed here in August 2023. This is good hotel, opposite the train station. We had a spacious room with two comfortable chairs. Modern bathroom; however, the (sliding) door is partially transparent, so if one of us visits the bathroom at night, the other wakes up as well. Breakfast was OK. The hotel was expensive (we paid over €200 for one night, including breakfast)."

Boutiquehotel Princenjagt ★★★
"Top-notch hotel, ideal for visiting Middelburg and, by extension, Zeeland. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are excellent. Breakfast is served in the basement, so you do need to be able to climb stairs, though. I've stayed there twice already, and I'll definitely be back for a third. There's also parking nearby, and there's a storage solution for your bicycles."

B&B 't Poorthuys ★★★
"A sophisticated B&B in a beautiful monumental old gentleman house. It has several rooms divided into 3 housing layers. The connection of the housing layers goes through a quite steep stairs, the stairs of which are not always equal. Something to take into account if you're less well-being, and then, as a top, provided by friendly staff, something to go back."

ApartHotel Waepen van Middelburg ★★★
"Great apartment hotel with very nice rooms and good location. I normally stay in this part of Middelburg but this was the first time I tried this hotel. The only downside was that breakfast opened 8:00 but I guess most people make their own breakfast in this type of hotel. Location is good with parking nearby by the street and a short walk into the centre. Also some alternatives to get a drink close by."
