The room given to us was not clean at all. The walls exhibited seepage and were completely dampened. The person who was an employee was also staying with us in Room No.9. He came there at 10 and shut the lights off when the people in the room were eating something. The bathroom was dirty and the water did not percolate as the drain was clogged. The toilet flush did not work at all. There was no sunlight and air as the rooms were underground. Moreover the common Kitchen at this place was stinking. The common room had a different odour.

If you want a cheap hostel, it is one of the cheapest hostels in Milano, but if you want comfort then you have to choose another one..

Clean, uncomfortable beds, cold (we were told that the municipality had closed the heating). Humid in the room, even though the room was ventilated. Possibility of cooking (there is a kitchen type)

Hostel with good value for money. Very welcoming and attentive staff: the first evening of my stay, I had a small problem with my bed and a solution was found the next day. The all-female dormitory I stayed in was perhaps a little small for six people and the bathroom could perhaps do with a little updating... Little extra: the metro 30 meters away which takes you to the center in 10-15 minutes.

The room I stayed in was the worst, with lots of mosquitoes. The facilities were not much different from other hostels.

Close to Stazione Centrale, the cathedral, but I found the bathroom a bit dirty. Spacious and popular hostel.

We were a large group travelling, when we arrived we were told by someone about potential sexual assault in the night so ended up having to sleep on the floor of our friends room. AC was max 3 hours at 25C so very hot. Some staff were nice some not.

DO NOT stay at this hostel. They stated there was going to be air conditioning, but they turned it off at midnight. RIDICULOUS! You toss and turn at night and wake up sweaty and miserable. If you open the window, noise from the street keeps you awake as well as dogs barking. Sadly, people smoking cigarettes also wafts into the space; this is terrible if you are allergic. Once the sun starts to shine, it warms up the room to over 30 degrees Celsius. To add insult to injury, the owner also does not turn on the hot water for the shower until 8:30 a.m., which makes for a miserable, cold shower in the morning if you are trying to get out to see the sites. The staff at the reception desk are left having to apologize for their owner who does not care about the guests. It is painful to observe and makes me shudder. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with this place. Downstairs there is a kitchen for guests. Sadly, there is not enough glasses for guests to use, the equipment has seen better days, the refrigerator is too small for all the people in the hostel to use it, there is only one large fork in the utensil drawer and few cutting knives, and the stove gets so hot it has peeled the plastic off the wall by the stove and surprised it has not caught on fire. And I hope you are not allergic to cigarette smoke because the staircase outside the door is a smoker's corner, and it wafts into the kitchen making guests nauseous. And if you take you food out of the kitchen into the other room to eat because of the smoke, management gets angry and tells you have to eat in the kitchen. There is a workspace for guests in an adjacent room, but there are not enough outlets for everyone to hook-up their laptop and the table is too high for the mixed matched chairs. The list goes on and on. Save yourself a headache and find someplace else to stay in Milan. It's not worth the pain and suffering. Guests do not get what they pay for at this establishment.

Milano Ostello. This is a very nice and clean hostel. The guys that work the front desk are very kind and friendly and willing to assist however they can. You can see the cleaners throughout the day working hard to keep the place the way it is, clean! The male dorm for 6 was spacious and clean with an ensuite. The best time to shower is in the evening and at night because the morning time the hot water is scarce. The room does have air conditioner but you have to ask the front desk to turn it on and they’ll turn it back off when they feel it is time. I didn’t like that but it is what it is. The windows do open in the room and Milan is very hot in May. The heat wasn’t my reason for wanting the air on, it was my allergies. Pollen is in the air. Overall I enjoyed my three night stay here and will stay again. They do have a kitchen area and hang out area downstairs. The place is gated and entry to the building and your room requires a key card.
