Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Mokinba Hotel Baviera and would recommend it for travelers looking for a well-located, friendly hotel in Milan. The location is a highlight — just a 5-minute ride on a Lime scooter or about 12 minutes on foot from Milano Centrale station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around the city. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which always makes a big difference. Breakfast is a buffet-style spread — nothing extraordinary, but perfectly decent if you keep expectations reasonable. The main drawbacks are the room and bathroom size. As a backpacker traveling with a large bag, I noticed the room was tight enough that fully opening a big suitcase was a challenge — though manageable with a backpack. The shower, however, was the bigger issue: it’s extremely compact, and even as a petite Asian woman of average build, I found it nearly impossible to move freely — turning around or washing my hair meant bumping into the shower door. That’s worth noting if you’re particular about bathroom comfort. That said, for the location and the warm service, I’d still consider it a solid choice for a short city stay.

I check in early just to drop the luggage before go out for travel but hotel staff forget to return the passport to me so we need to go back & forth between hotel & Milano Centrale for the passport which cause us miss the train to Lake Como. Room is a bit small, especially bathroom, you need to stay still in the capsule and yes, very difficult to wash your body & hair. The tile is loose and you will feel danger when you are inside the bathroom. Just shower gel provides in the room and it the same between the one for Bidet and the one in the bathroom. Floor is a bit sticky so you feel like you are walking with the gum on your feet. Bed has the sound even you just sit down on the bed and the mattress and blanket look dirty. Lot of black particles on my bed once I pull up the blanket. Hotel is located near the restaurant, bar so you can hear a noise almost the night. Breakfast is terrible if you need high protein in the morning. Cold sausage, strange color of scramble egg. Just dessert for the selection and that's all.

We stayed 1 night. Arriving at 11:45 pm Air conditioning was on hot and we were unable to turn off, causing the room to be constantly at a temperature which was unacceptable. The water taps would only run very hot water and we were unable to get any cold water or regulate the temperature. We complained the following morning on check out but staff seemed indiferent. We asked if they could keep our bags which we would colect later. On returning we were told our bags were behind the elevator which was in a public passageway and unsecured. On following up our earlier complaint we spoke to a new memeber of staff who had recently come on duty. he had no knowledge of the issues we had raised and could find no record of our earlier conversation. When I told him that I wished to make a complaint, no form was given, instead he told me I should send an email to their headquartes. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience.

The bathroom is meant for to fit a 12 years old. So be prepared to feel like you are bathing in a confined tube. The service is one that is arrogant and self centered. I ask the hotel staff something in English, she can reply ‘I don’t understand English’ in almost perfect Queen’s English. Prior to this she just informed me in English, to shift our room to another level in English. The other staff at the breakfast will certainly ask for your room number if you are Asian. Some kind of discrimination. Worst is the hotel manager is that he does not even bother to look into the issue and reply you ‘That’s not possible. I don’t believe it.’ The hotel now sells our to local student tours. Just don’t stay in this hotel unless you want some kind of nasty experience during your holidays where you are supposed to relax and enjoy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Hotel, Great Location – Don’t Let the Bed Bug Comment Scare You! At first, I was a bit unsure after seeing a review mentioning bed bugs — but honestly, I think that may have just been a one-off or a disgruntled guest. Everyone gets them! Personally, I had no issues at all. The hotel was clean, tidy, and well-maintained. I didn’t make it to breakfast during my stay, but I did catch a glimpse one morning on my way out — and it looked absolutely delicious. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and cleaned daily, which I really appreciated. The only minor letdown was that the safe wasn’t working — we were told it would be fixed, but unfortunately it wasn’t during our stay. Other than that, everything else was spot on. Big shout-out to the cleaning staff — they did a fantastic job.

TLDR; find another hotel. The room is stifling and the air conditioning has never worked. Even if you turn it to the coolest temperature, it only gives out heat. We told the hotel staff after the first night, they seemed to check it but was never came back with an answer if the AC is working properly or not. We had to open the windows to let the cool air in all nights. They provide all-in-one shampoo and shower gel. However, the one in our room was mixed with water, and it is watery. It is with subpar quality and you can’t realistically clean any part of your body with it. Better bring your own toiletries if you are staying here. Most importantly, be aware of the guest book that they put it on a QR code. From there, it showed a price list of the minibar. Water is not included in the list, and we thought they are complimentary. However, when we checked out, we were charged 23€ for the minibar. Even though if water is one of the “soft drinks”, it says it is 2€ each. The staff said that the price list from the guest book is not updated, all soft drinks should be 3€ now. They did apologise that water is not included in the list but they still made us to pay. I personally think it is quite dishonest and unfair for a hotel to have a not-updated, non-completed list, and then ask the guests to pay what is not on the list. The cleaning staff is nice though. The hotel is also quite close to Republicca station. I would suggest ones to choose a better place to stay, instead of here.

Hotel was good and clean but quite small. Shower space is super tiny! I’m super tiny already and couldn’t shower properly, can’t imagine bigger size person to use the shower space. Other than that it was ok and the staff were friendly

This is an older building that’s currently being renovated. We had a spacious corner room, spacious bathroom but aircon vent was dirty. Reasonably convenient location to tram/metro. Offered luggage storage post check out. Friendly staff.
