Crowne Plaza MILAN CITY by IHG

This Crowne Plaza is in an excellent location. It's just a 10-minute walk to Milan Central Station, even with luggage, which is super convenient for catching trains to the airport or outlet malls. There are several small convenience stores nearby, but I wouldn't recommend buying anything there (you'll understand why when you see them). If you turn right out of the hotel, then left at the traffic lights, and walk about a hundred meters, you'll find a larger supermarket with much more reasonable prices. The hotel breakfast was great; it was one of the few places during our 40-plus day trip that offered green leafy vegetables. They also had rice, though it was a bit undercooked. The room was a little small, but it was cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided every day. The free use of the swimming pool was a nice bonus!

The room was a bit small, but that's to be expected in Italy. The hotel is right at the metro station, making it super convenient to get to the city center. The train station is also nearby, which is great for anyone needing to travel to other cities. I personally found the bedding comfortable; I fell asleep quickly, though that might also be due to being exhausted from the flight.

Opting for a room with a balcony was definitely the right choice! All my requests made during booking were met, and I was given a room with a fantastic view. The bathroom is incredibly spacious, featuring both a bathtub and a shower – very comfortable. The location is super convenient, with a metro entrance right outside the hotel. This particular station is also less crowded and very clean. It's incredibly easy to get to the Duomo area and surroundings; in fact, it was so convenient that I ended up taking the metro back to the hotel after shopping. For dining, there's an Ole supermarket nearby, though it's a bit of a walk. If you don't mind walking, it's a great option. Along the way, you'll find plenty of restaurants that are authentic and reasonably priced.

The location is excellent. We arrived at Milan Central Station at 10:30 PM and it was less than a 10-minute walk with our large suitcases, and it felt very safe. There's a subway station right outside the hotel, which is super convenient for getting to the Duomo. The staff were all very nice, the room was clean, and the breakfast quality was great. They even made fresh coffee to order. We booked a suite since we were traveling with our child, and the sofa bed was comfortable and the room was quite spacious.

I chose this hotel mainly because it was newly renovated, so I expected it to be fresh and clean. However, I was very disappointed after checking in. First, the front desk staff were chatting while processing my check-in, which felt very slow and disrespectful. The air conditioning in the room didn't cool effectively and was very noisy. The pillows were also extremely uncomfortable, making it impossible to get a good rest. I strongly advise against staying here; it's the worst Crowne Plaza I've ever stayed at.
