CSI Group - Hotel Metropoli

A great value for a one-night stopover near the station. It's rare for European hotels to provide slippers, toothbrushes, and an electric kettle. It's a small hotel occupying one floor of a building, and the elevator has a real old-world charm.

I stayed at Central Station, located on the first floor of the building, and I had a really great experience. The location is incredibly convenient, very close to the central station and perfect for getting around Milan easily. My single room was very comfortable and had everything I needed: a refrigerator, a full-length mirror, and a very comfortable bathroom. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches: it was the only hotel during my trip to Italy where I found complimentary water in the fridge and even slippers in the room. Simple details, but truly appreciated. The common area near the reception is also very pleasant, and there's a free coffee machine available for guests. Overall, I really liked it, and if I return to Milan, I would gladly stay at Central Station again.

Right across from the Central Station, the owner is Chinese, which is very convenient. They also provide disposable toiletries, and the air conditioning works great. It's super handy if you're transiting through Milan, and there's even a Chinese restaurant downstairs.

The hotel's location is excellent, directly opposite Milan Central Station, which is very convenient for travelers with luggage. However, the main entrance isn't very conspicuous, and the sign is small, so it takes a bit of searching to find it the first time. Fortunately, the room interior is decent; the space is very spacious, and the facilities are new, clean, and comfortable, making for a reassuring stay.

The hotel is right next to the train station. There's a bus stop downstairs with direct service to the airport. The elevators are very modern. Although the room and bed are small, they are clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are polite and helpful. I stayed for 2 nights before heading home, and it was really good value for money.

I was a bit worried because this hotel had some bad reviews, but we found it to be the best value for money. Firstly, the room was very spacious, and they provided bottled water, disposable slippers, and even toothbrushes, which was a thoughtful touch! The staff were also very friendly. The only downsides were that the city tax had to be paid in cash, which was a bit inconvenient, and the soundproofing wasn't great. However, we woke up early anyway, so it wasn't a big issue for us. Overall: Highly recommended!

Arrived at night to find the elevator broken, had to climb four flights of stairs. There was hair on the bed. The location is indeed close to the train station. The bathroom floor looked quite old. Breakfast had a lot of packaged food, but there were fresh boiled eggs, so considering the value for money, it was acceptable. It's fine as a transit stop.

I placed two separate bookings to store my luggage and catch a train. My first stay involved a complaint about cleanliness. Since the cancellation period for the second booking had passed, I reluctantly decided to stay again. I thought the hotel might have learned its lesson and improved hygiene, but to my surprise, when we arrived early this time, they had prepared an even dirtier room. The towels were limp and showed slight signs of use, the toothbrush holder had stains, and for two guests, they only provided one set of towels and toiletries. The pillowcases were dirty, and the furniture surfaces were unclean. The day after checking out, one of my feet was covered in insect bites (photos have been submitted to Trip.com). What's most infuriating is the Chinese-American female staff member at the front desk. From the moment we checked in, she had a scowl on her face the entire time (I'm not sure if it was because of our dispute over luggage fees when we checked out last time or the cleanliness complaint). She handed us the room key and told us to retrieve our luggage from the storage room ourselves, and didn't say another word after that. We went to the luggage room and saw there was too much stuff, so we asked her for help moving it. She didn't respond. When we asked again a little later, she angrily told us she was busy and to wait. We returned to our room, and by the time our child used the restroom, our luggage had been delivered. There was no knock, just a 'thud' sound as the luggage was dropped at our door. Leaving aside the check-in experience, we paid to store our luggage for several days, so shouldn't it have been retrieved and given to us directly upon our arrival? Additionally, I advise fellow Chinese-speaking travelers considering this hotel for its Chinese service: during my two stays, I saw three different front desk staff members. The only Chinese-American female employee, even when she heard me speaking Chinese (when I complained about hygiene to Trip.com), would not speak Chinese with me.
