The hotel is away from the road in its own grounds with places to sit, and even has a communal kitchen, laundry and gym. It's a really tranquil retreat. There are also self-catering facilities in the room, and it looked like a good selection of pots, pans, etc - although we didn’t use this as it’s a short walk from some great bars and restaurants.

My friend booked these apartments not realising they were a 1 star. Her face when we told her was total shock, she had read the good reviews. She had no need to be worried, these apartments were great! They have a small kitchen next to a gym and a nice private garden area with a small pool. Take coffee and tea! There is a coffee machine, but you only get one pod each, and that’s Marrakesh Tea! Air conditioner too! There is a washer should you be staying a while. Conveniently placed and walking distance to everything. There is a small Spa supermarket 3 minutes away. We had 2 rooms, for 5, on the first floor. More than adequate, comfy bed and the shower was excellent. The small number of staff work very hard. It’s hard to find anyone when you need them, so do your homework. It used to be a 17th century palace. We would definitely revisit if we went back to Porto. There is an old chapel opposite, which we assumed must have belonged to this building. It looks unloved and unused, but it opens up on a night to a lively little restaurant. The food was great too. You have to book early as everywhere gets booked up. Tourism definitely keeps Porto alive. There are homeless a poor people everywhere, very sad. There are some talented buskers around for you to listen to, which was lovely. One or two not so good, but you’ve got to love a tryer! We went on the river cruise down the Douro, which we all loved. We hired a TUK TUK, an got a lovely young man called Gizmo. He was great fun and took us to lovely places, we would never have found them without him. He even played our music an made it a bit of a party night. Everywhere is within walking distance. There are walking tours available but, we didn’t need that as we have a ‘Natalie’, our very own Gloria Hunniford! 🥰 Visit the beautiful Porto Sao Bento Station an see the famous blue tiles throughout, you will be in the city centre. We didn’t go on the cable car but did walk the bridge from the Ribeira. There is a funicular, if the climb is too high. There was a long queue but that soon went down. My friends recommended the wine tasting, whilst I took a walk in the old town. 1 in 5 buildings are derelict, sad but very interesting at the same time. If you are fit, walk! There are roadworks everywhere and you’ll get to your destination much quicker. We went to see the ‘most beautiful book shop in the world’, it really is lovely, BUT, they cram so many people in at a time it’s just madness. Book it, it’s €8 each. We saw another book shop, which was also stunning, that one was free. We went to see the Bolsa Palace, we booked the day before but still had to wait in the queue when we arrived. There were 2 ladies serving, who were very slow. By the time we got to the front we were told we had missed our slot! We tagged along with an English speaking guide, as we had a plane to catch. It is lovely, but there isn’t that much to see other than the building, it is stripped of the conte

Just the gem everyone wishes for when booking a break. Clean , well equipped apartments, all the amenities yet still retaining the charm and character of the period house. Having a pool was a real treat at the end of a day walking the hills of Porto.

Lovely spacious apartment on ground floor. All plates cups, cutlery, pots, glasses, wine glasses, corkscrew provided. Plenty of cupboard space. Dishwasher microwave sink. Coffee pod machine. No coffee pods milk or sugar but supermarket close by. Very comfortable king bed. Shower super hot and plenty of pressure. A short walk up the hill is a plaza with shops and restaurants and many more restaurants in the surrounding streets. A lovely church just another street away. Wine bar right next to gated entrance. We used Bolt (like Uber) to get around if going further afar as we are in our 60's with athritis, but would be quicker to walk to nearby attractions/metro etc if you are a bit fitter than us as there are a lot of one way streets which makes driving longer. Communal laundry on site with 2 washing machines and one dryer. The dryer takes a long time to dry if fully loaded...was still quite wet after an hour. Much quicker though when lightly loaded. They do supply clothes racks which we used to finish drying clothes in room while we were out. There is an iron and ironing board also. Heater worked well...it was a bit chilly outside around 12 degrees max during the day Loved our stay here no complaints.

Wonderfully clean, modern and quiet apartment hidden away in central Porto. The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. It was such a bonus to have the beautiful gardens and pool. I spent a lot of time on the sun loungers by the pool when not off sightseeing. The bed and pillows were also extremely comfortable.

We were absolutely delighted with our experience here. The staff were so friendly and always extremely helpful. Our room was beautiful- very spacious and well equipped, with facilities including a fridge, freezer box, coffee machine, dishwasher etc. The garden and pool area was lovely, and it was hard to believe you were right in the middle of a city. There was also a well equipped gym. The location was great, easy walking distance to everything we needed, with shops and restaurants less than a minute away. I would definitely stay here again!

I booked this hotel in October 2021 for a stay in June 2022. The Friday before my stay at 1am I was sent an email claiming my card details were not validated and if not updated my booking would be cancelled in 24hrs. (I still do not understand why my card is invalid?) I did not see this email until Saturday at which point they had already cancelled my booking and already taken another booking in its place. I'd been in contact with the hotel 3 weeks prior to confirm my flight arrival details and to book a transfer from the airport which was all confirmed. So it isn't like there had been no contact since my booking. There was no real effort from the hotel to get in contact with me... text, call or WhatsApp me or give a courtesy call to check I still required my booking. They show little compassion, couldn't help me find somewhere else, couldn't phone new guests (who booked less than a few hours ago and advise there had been an error/ mistake) So 4 days before my holiday due to them cancelling my booking I have nowhere to stay. The only consolation is that I saw the email as if I hadn't I would have arrived with my friend and daughter in 4 days with nowhere to stay as, as far as I was aware I was being picked up by hotel from airport. Asked for contact details for manager. Told I couldn't have them. Asked if manager could call me, no phone call received. They obviously don't care about their guests, have no loyalty to someone that has booked months in advance. I can only assume they get more money from the new booking so not interested in reinstating mine. My advise would be to book somewhere else or chance them just cancelling you booking a few days before your arrival when you have flights, airport Hotel and car park paid for and a load of euros you can longer use

Stunning apartments with a beautiful garden pool. Spotlessly clean and very attentive host. Comfortable beds with separate sitting area and kitchen. Restaurants near by and not far to the city with all its amazing attractions. We would recommend
