This homestay is really beautiful. Although it is deep in the alley, the arrangement is very considerate. The front desk can help call a tuk-tuk to go to restaurants near the beach. The whole hotel is right by the canal, with different birds and wild peacocks visiting on the balcony. The facilities and equipment are also new. The only drawback is that it is very close to the canal. If it rains at night, the rain is really loud... and there will be small insects visiting the room. But the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. It is a very good accommodation experience.

The room exceeded my expectations. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The view was stunning, absolutely gorgeous! The service was also impeccable. There are only six rooms available, making it very private and quiet. Restaurants are just a short taxi ride away; the beach is beautiful.

This was my first time staying at their hotel, and I was very satisfied with their service. It's really just a 2-3 step walk from the beach, no joke. They also provide a great breakfast.

Absolutely beautiful colonial-style house with antique furniture and real character! Everything was clean and carefully presented. We were greeted with refreshing drinks and shown to a stunning room with TWO balconies and its own little attic. We really enjoyed the delicious and varied breakfasts, which much better coffee than we drank elsewhere. The pool was also a huge benefit after a hot day exploring Mirissa. The Spice House is very near the beaches and plenty of nice restaurants and cafes. Its staff were friendly and helpful - and we even had a nice chat with the owners one evening. Definitely recommend!

We stayed for 6 nights with breakfast included — and honestly, it felt like a little home in paradise. 🌴 From the moment we arrived, the hosts (couple) were incredibly warm and welcoming. They always made sure everything was comfortable. The place itself is tucked away from the noise, so it’s peaceful but still just a short walk to the beach, cafes, and restos. The room was clean, spacious, and cozy, with great natural light and good AC — perfect after a long beach day. The Wi-Fi was reliable as well. Breakfast every morning was freshly made and absolutely delicious — fruits, eggs, toast, and the kind of Sri Lankan fruit juice that makes you want to stay forever. 🍳☕ What stood out most was the hospitality. The owners went above and beyond to help us with any query we had. You can really feel the care and kindness in this family-run place. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, and genuinely friendly stay in Mirissa, Village Star Rest deserves all the stars. 🌟 Highly recommended — We would love to come back again!

Good location. It is in beach road and plenty of options to eat outside. Everything is in walkable distance. We had sea view room which gave a beautiful start to the day in early morning. The only thing that troubled me was there was no elevator hence I had to take the luggage through stairs to 2nd floor. The owner helped me as well to carry the luggage. I would definitely recommend this place for your stay as it provides a good atmosphere. They have a kitchen for your self cooking where you can prepare your own food. We were satisfied with our stay at Sailors Mirissa. People working at the hotel are friendly and helpful. There is a beach across the road, and next to the hotel there is a pretty cheap cafe with a rather delicious food. The rooms might be clean if you ask them to do it. What is more, you have to change towels yourself. But it wasn’t a big deal for us. Really content to stay there.

The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile, making the stay even more enjoyable. The food was delightful—fresh, flavorful, and with plenty of options to choose from. I especially loved their seafood dishes, which were prepared to perfection. Another great feature was the location. It’s close enough to Mirissa’s main attractions but far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle, giving you the best of both worlds.

I enjoyed my time at Ara Beach Resort, thanks to its excellent location and the fabulous pool. The staff were friendly and added to the resort's pleasant atmosphere. However, I'd suggest a little more focus on cleaning and keeping the buffet breakfast items hot. The food was delicious but consistently served cold. With these small changes, Ara Beach Resort could be even more wonderful.
