Excellent location. Make sure to follow that narrow road next to the entrance of the temple. It is next to the tourist boat pier, and depending on your room you might be facing the Amanohashidate. Great staff and hospitality as always. Nice room which were recently renovated. Overall a great experience even for foreigners.

The garden and ryokan are beautiful. The hosts were so attentive and gracious. Lovely onsen and cosmetics. Charming reading room. The food was wonderful - regional food specialties - bream, mackerel, Spanish mackerel, flounder, prawns, tiny shrimp (grilled, smoked and fresh) and pine juice. A beautiful garden. Truly enjoyed this experience.

When I checked out, I received a flyer asking me to post a review on Trip Advisor, so I decided to write one this time. For the past two or three years, whenever I had business in Toyooka, I would drive to this inn and stay there two to three times a year. I liked the traditional Japanese inn style, where the waitresses would bring meals, lay out the futons, and give me tips to build relationships with the waitresses. It's a quiet environment, and they also put a lot of effort into their food. When I stayed there for the first time in a while since October last year, the style of the inn had changed to a more luxurious line, with two rooms combined into one room with an indoor bath and a new dining area, and my relationship with the waitresses had become weaker. There are still two old-fashioned rooms left, but they are quite old. Now, I always book online, but I made a mistake and made a reservation on Friday when I intended to stay on Saturday, and I realized it when I received a call from the inn at 5:00 on the day. There was a room available on Saturday, so I was fortunate to be able to stay. However, although it was my mistake, I was also fined. I felt that the service was too cold. We thought we were regular customers. The people on-site do their jobs very well, so it seems like they don't have much of a connection with the management. We have a habit of continuing to visit places we like, but this is our last visit to Matsurotei. Next time we come to Toyooka, we'll try new places and inns. If we have a good experience, we'll write about it again.

I was able to spend a very relaxing time in the quiet setting. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable as they had been renovated. The sunset and sunrise seen from the window were beautiful. Tea, coffee, and free drinks in the refrigerator were also very plentiful. The semi-open-air bath in the room is also spacious and beautiful. Even though the response to the new coronavirus has changed, I am reluctant to eat in the same space as other customers, and on the other hand, if I eat in my room, I can't calm down before and after meal time, but it is very nice to have a meal in a completely private room. I was happy. The food was also extremely delicious. I would like to visit again in a different season and enjoy different scenery and food.

This is a very nice inn where the garden and the inside of the hotel are well-maintained and well-maintained. There are lights installed in various places in the garden, and at night you can enjoy lighting up from your room as you like. The view from the room was amazing and I never got tired of it, it was very soothing. Not only the large public bath, but the bath in the room is not a hot spring, but there is a jacuzzi, so we enjoyed each one. The food is also very delicious and satisfying. At breakfast, I had the tamagoyaki made right in front of me, and I was able to eat it piping hot. I can't forget the Tango rice cooked in a clay pot. Although I only stayed for one night, I had a blissful time.

It was very relaxing and the view was great from both the dining area and the room. In addition, there is a boat exclusively for guests staying at the fireworks festival, so you can enjoy the fireworks at your leisure without crowding.I would like to come every year if possible. However, due to the typhoon, the expressway was closed and we were late arriving, which caused some inconvenience to the inn, but we were very grateful that they made an effort to time our meal to coincide with the fireworks. I'm going to take some time off from work, so I think it would be nice to have more time to relax.
