Hotels near Nyali Beach, Mombasa

The first impression one gets is that one is arriving in a ”dark” and dangerous area but it seems this is an area that is gentrifying and is very safe. The apartment complex itself was surprsingly modern, clean, well look after and well equipped for the comfort of those coming in for short or long stays. It's important to specifically mention one element that makes this place work so well and stay so well kept, the lady who met us and took care of the administrative stuff, Joanna, is an absolute GEM! She may look like just a simple caretaker but she made all the difference for us. She was pleasant, welcoming, supportive and ready to assist at the drop of a hat. She is efefctively doing the work of a ”Hotel Manager”, because she does the hard work of cleaning, overseeing maintenance, laundry, etc and yet, she is effectively the facilities Public Relations Officer and handles the administrative aspects. So, I hope her employers recognise what a great employee they have and compensate her accordingly. One suggestion for the owners, they have really fantastic thick towels but a simple trick I use in my own house is to buy a simple electric dryer, not to dry the laundry but, once the towels have been dried in the sun, run them through the dryer at moderate to high heat for 15-20 minutes and they'll be mice, soft and fluffy, otherwise, after a few washes, they start getting a little scratchy and rough on the skin. It was a truly pleasantly suprising comfortable stay.

A wonderful, atmospheric hotel. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. The food was delicious. The Jazzy restaurant on the beach serves excellent, fresh seafood. Room cleaning is excellent, and they even offer turndown service. We requested a late checkout at 5:00 PM due to a flight delay. They extended our stay free of charge and upgraded us to a room with an ocean view, and they even helped us move our luggage. We really enjoyed the pool; it's a good depth, up to 2.2 meters. The hotel grounds are very well-kept and green, with everything in bloom. There are also wild monkeys; the guards chase them away with slingshots.

If you truly want to enjoy a perfect romantic holiday on a private beach with multiple restaurants, multiple bars, multiple kid activities and recreation areas. Try PRIDEINN FLAMINGO in Shanzu Mombasa. It's simply beautiful. I have to just send a special commendation to the STAFF at the resort. Way way AWESOME and attentive. Very friendly and engaging. Simply an awesome experience. Thank you PRIDEINN FLAMINGO for giving us an awesome experience that we were truly looking for. P.S The manicured lawns are beautiful, the indoor facilities are all modern, the cleanliness is top notch, the beach is clean and no hawking or soliciting is allowed. VERY NICE 🎉

A quiet and welcoming atmosphere. Fantastic food and excellent service from the staff.

On arrival I was met with a really nice welcome. The courtesy and service received was great. The room was very nice and clean and the AC was great it was nice an cool. The resort was just Fab, with various different entertainments to see and enjoy. The variety of food was also really nice. Room service attendants were great and were always polite and friendly. They were also great when it came to the daily cleaning of the room/bed and the bathroom too was also cleaned well, including clean towels all the time. I really liked the view of the sea from the hotel, it was amazing. The beach and pool areas at the resort were great, and nice areas to relax around! Don’t forget sun lotion as the weather was really hot during the stay. They also had massage facilities and it was nice too where they offer a variety of body massage options to suit your needs. The also have a shop with various gifts for tourists too. Great service and hospitality received during my stay. 😁 Will definitely consider this place on future travels to Kenya. Taken a few pics to share 😀

It's a shame that the hot shower wasn't available❗️It's very relaxing and the breakfast is delicious. I recommend it.

It is located perfectly for travel to the airport, so the convenience is certainly a reason to stay here. The staff were all pleasant, but the rooms could use air-conditioning as it is a hot country. They have a restaurant downstairs inside the hotel, but choices are limited and the breakfast was very ordinary. The restaurant they have next door was a total waste of time and money. We ordered the grilled chicken and waited over 1hr for it to arrive, and when it did it was dry overcooked chicken that was like chewing on a rubber boot. We couldn't finish the meal because it was just inedible and not at all a good meal by any standards. Their cold drinks are not very cold and they do not have ice. Oh, but for them it is more important to have an ignorant DJ playing music so loud we had trouble hearing ourselves talking. We asked nicely if they could have the music volume lowered a little but our request was just ignored by the DJ. It is a restaurant not a night club and the music was just too loud for a restaurant. So I would give this place a 0 star rating because it was terrible.
