The perfect place for a relaxing time in Tuscany! The rooms were spotless, the beds were comfy and we thoroughly enjoyed the views and atmosphere. The staff catered to our needs and we recommend that people book this place for their stay. Nothing but perfect!
Response from Property: Thank you for your kind words.

This place was so comfortable, and was a delight to stay in our luxury room . The staff was amazing, the owners were charming, and there were beautiful views everywhere you turned. It is a little removed from towns, so I would recommend having a car if you plan to explore. We especially loved hanging out with the resident cats!
Response from Property: Thank you very much for your kind words. We really enjoy taking care of our guests. It’s so much fun meeting you!

My husband and I met George and his wonderful staff a few years ago when we were driving through Tuscany. We wanted to stop and admire this amazing location, as we had visited for lunch many years before. George and Linda took over the hotel and restaurant in 2018, so we were very interested to hear his plans. They were eyeballs deep in renovating and bringing this wonderful place up to their very highest standards, including much work on the property itself. After a lovely glass of wine on the terrace (which overlooks the beautiful valley between their location and Montepulciano) with George discussing his many plans for the hotel and restaurant, we sadly left this wonderful oasis. Fast forward to now, and we again visited one of our most favorite places in Tuscany. And WOW! What George and Linda have done is nothing short of breathtaking! A new pool, stunning grounds surrounding the entrance and terrace in back, new lavender field and olive groves/vineyard brought back to life. Not to mention renovated rooms and continued updating of centuries old plumbing to support new bathrooms. We were truly gobsmacked! Then we had lunch... holy buckets! The flavors and true mastery of blending Tuscan flavors with innovative ideas blew our minds. I'm still day dreaming about the cinghiale and homemade, rolled pasta as my primi, followed by the low heat cooked artichoke flowers in a slight sauce that created magic in my mouth. My husband had the cacio e pepe tortello pasta with black cabbage cream and then crispy pork belly..... all he could do was close his eyes and continue to say.... wow. Of course we followed with a dolce..... again, holy buckets. Light almond mousse with white chocolate and olive leaf accompanied by a crunchy olive oil waffle and a small dash of George's olive oil to top (more on that below). Don't even get me started on the wine list. The staff was so knowledgeable about the food and wine that whether you are novice or expert, they will be able to suggest the right accompaniment to your meal. Another wonderful surprise is that George and Linda have bottled their own olive oil (I do know a good olive oil when I taste it, this is very good) and George has worked with a small producer of balsamic vinegar from Modena, to create a taste that is both slightly sweet and perfect for ice cream (yup.. trust me, you have to try it) yet perfect to also compliment a bit of heavy cheese. Both are available for sale; needless to say, I walked away with both and plan to order more for Christmas gifts. But with all the wonderful food, wine and STUNNING views, the thing that most makes us want to come back time and time again, is George and Linda and their team. They have taken this wonderful property and made it a dream place in this sometimes crazy world. Their warmth and that of their staff impart what Italy is truly about... friends, family, food, wine and connection. In my opinion... it doesn't get any better than that.

This is like you would imagine the tuscany in your dreams. We loved this Agritourismo. The hole resort is so beautiful! From the reception area to the rooms. The restaurant is very good, we enjoyed our dinner here. We also booked a cooking class with nonna and the next day we rented two e-bikes to explore the surrounding. Lind and her team did everything to make our stay unforgettable.

The hotel is charming and quaint...everything you would expect of a property which is hundreds of years old! Very comfortable and the staff couldn't be more welcoming and accomodating. Some amenities need updating, which is never a simple process in a historic facility. Even so, everything is spotlessly clean!

Wonderful! Room, the view, pool area, restaurant - 10/10. The staff was super friendly and kind, from the reception, restaurant staff that recommended the great desert - Olio, and three cats that were most cutest. Felt like home, and I hope to return.

Amazing, Wonderful, Outstanding in every way. Beautiful location, comfortable rooms, fabulous food. The owners/staff are incredible and go above and beyond to make the stay at La Chiusa enjoyable. One of the best experiences of my travels. It was difficult to leave and I hope to return soon.

We spent a very pleasant 4 nights here and enjoyed our stay. Took an afternoon cooking class. It was cold and rainy for some of our stay, but still nice. Our accommodation, #11, was roomy. Staff was incredibly nice. Particular shout-out to Laurene, dining room server. Breakfast was excellent, as was dinner. The view across the valley to Montepulciano was amazing. New pool, lit nicely but not heated. Excellent value.
Response from Property: Thank you. We strive for a 5-star expereince. What can we do to earn 5 stars?

This wonderful boutique hotel was suggested by friends from Texas and we are so glad we took their suggestion. This beautiful hotel was nestled in the tuscan hills. The staff was fabulous. The restaurant delicious. The room was so comfortable. A must see!!

Sorry but it wasn’t as good as the prior year. Looking for a new venue for next year. We truly loved this place in 2022 not so much in 2023. The food was less both in volume and in quality, the service was lacking and the staff did not respond to needs.
Response from Property: Thanks for your review. Our chef's father passed away and our assistant chef was running our kitchen. Our new restaurant staff is amazing. Come see us agin.

We enjoyed enormously our stay. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, this area in Tuscany is such a marvelous and magical place, breathtaking view of Monepulciano from our window is truly unforgettable. A few pointers for those who plan to stay at La Chiusa: (a) the rental car is a must, without it you won't be able to visit the hilltop towns around and this is a definite thing to do; (b) the restaurant is usually closed on Mondays, make your plans around this, there is only one restaurant in Montefollonico, accessible on foot from La Chiusa (c) do yourself a favor and not miss a stroll in the local park Il Tondo
Response from Property: Thank you very much for your kind words. We really enjoy taking care of our guests. We can also help arrange transportation for you to the area restaurants and sights.

This hotel is a STUNNER!!! it is gorgeous and recently renovated so the rooms are modern but still with an old world charm. The staff made reservations for us and allowed us to rent bikes. You will never want to leave the pool and the restaurant was DELICIOUS.

Unbelievable professionalism. They went overboard in booking the hotel, cooking school, local restaurant reservations and airport pickup. It's all about people! Relais La Chiusa excels in their staff A definite place to stay for a relaxing.

We stayed for four amazing nights at La Chiusa. We couldn’t be happier with our experience there. The location and grounds are picturesque and peaceful. It’s situated in an area that makes visiting many of the beach villages very convenient. Our room opened up to beautiful views over the hills towards Montepulciano. The room was very spacious, well appointed with comfortable beds. The amenities at La Chiusa were fantastic. We made use of the pool and pool services after hot days exploring nearby villages. The staff at La Chiusa are fantastic and attend to every detail and request, making for an easy and relaxing visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts overlooking the hills each morning. The restaurant is a must visit for dinner as welI. If ever in the region again, we will definitely stay here!
