Golden Beach Guest House & Rooftop Bar

My wife and l stay at this guesthouse from Sunday 10th of March 2024 until checking-out Friday 15th of March . The location was fabulous being ten minutes by taxi from Faro airport and 25 minutes by the water-taxi to Faro waterfront. The guesthouse was extremely well maintained and cleaned to an exceptional high standard rooms cleaned daily. Food was prepared and cooked by professional staff again to a high standard. The rooftop bar was nice to watch some of the most spectacular sunsets l've seen. The staff we very welcoming and kind and went to great lengths to make your stay enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were very approachable and had a good knowledge of local amenities and pleasant to talk too and the customer relationship was to a high standard. Two beachfront restaurants next door gave you a choice of food again very good atmosphere and attitude toward customers. relations were highly rate

What a fabulous guest house. The staff were all helpful and friendly, the location is stunning, an excellent experience all around. Wish we had more time here!

Situated right on Praia de Faro, this lovely Guest House is the perfect place to stay to explore the area. We travelled around the Algarve this summer and this was our starting point. Staff were so friendly. Great sized room with sea views and breakfast right outside our door in the morning with option to eat in or eat out on the terrace. Room had smart TV with youtube which we appreciated for our toddler! Guest House helped organise a taxi to take us to Olhao for our next leg of our trip. The beach itself is lovely and clean with golden sand and we enjoyed walking down the steps of the guest house right onto the sand. We also watched sunset on the beach one evening. Good choice of restaurants within walking distance. Also a nice little childrens playground next to it. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Well located beachfront guest house. Standard room small but adequate, clean, comfortable beds, great shower, lovely rooftop bar, nice included breakfast

This place was a great find for our 2 nights stay, the location is second to none, steps leading onto the golden beach and clear waters. Absolutely loved morning walks before breakfast. Breakfast was great with hot and cold food with fresh coffee and pastries. Parking all around the guest house, no problem finding a spot. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault our stay and 100% will stay here if we are in the area again

was in ground floor room partial sea view(if you looked over a wall hedge and people walking past you could get a glimpse of blue) room smelt,matress hard as were the pillows but main problem was when the window was open . ground floor directly outside of room was hotel sunbeds where people smoked and talked if you put a hand outside you could stroke the head of the people on sunbed they were that close.. so on top of all the noise of outside and no privaccy as equally people on sunbeds could equally hear our conversations, the worst issue was the smoke stemch coming into the room.we conplained and were moved into the owners own room whxih had a more comfy bed but the window faced a screen panel so no prper light(like a cell) and when window open all you hear behind the screen was the noise of the cleaners and people walking and talking outaide the room and again no privacy to even have a conversation without being overheard other rooms may be better this review is based on the 2 we had would have scored less but hotel staff very nice ,other positive location and good air con

Sitting outdoor in the sunshine overlooking the golden sands of Praia de Faro - what’s not to like, we thought… Well, I’m sorry to admit that there are a few things not to like about Golden Beach Guesthouse’s rooftop restaurant. For some strange reason the owners have created a logistic system that doesn’t work at all. We tried to get one of the many vacant tables on the lower deck, but was sent one floor upstairs. A grumpy young woman behind the counter did her best to ignore us, so we fetched the menu ourselves. As she kept ignoring us we walked up to her and tried to order. Half of dishes on the menu (toasts, bruschetta…) were unavailable- why didn’t she tell us in the first place? At last we managed to order an avocado burger, a chickpea burger and a bottle of mineral water. Now the unfriendly waiter had to walk down the stairs to tell the kitchen about our order and return to “help” other guests (many left because she ignored themI). We waited. And waited. And waited. After half an hour we got up to the counter and asked for the water - which she then reluctantly brought to the table. Then we waited some more - and at last we had our two burgers. The avocado burger is a joke. 4 slices of avocado, 2 slices of tomato and a leaf of lettuce in an industrial burger bun; no dressing - €11. The chickpea burger was much, much better (the veggie burger was crisp and juicy) - same price. The hand cut fries were excellent, fried in peanut oil I guess?! In short, do visit Golden Beach rooftop joint if you are in extremely good time, if you get turned on by grumpy people ignoring you, and if you get a kick out of pricey food without the slightest taste.

We were pleased and surprised by all aspects of this little friendly hotel. The location is perfect for a quiet relaxing holiday. All staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful, Alex and his staff are a credit to the hotel. Our room (103) whilst being small was comfortable, clean and adequate for us. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection to choose from. We found the roof top bar to be excellent and we had dinner there every evening apart from one. Again the menu was varied, the food cooked freshly to order and delivered in a very relaxed atmosphere. The views from the rooftop were stunning particularly the sunsets. We would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning in October.

The staff is most friendly and welcoming. Every question or request was met with a smile and patience, even the front desk staff she offered to walk with us to the bus stop for our tour pick up! The only thing so would say disappointing was the slow service on the rooftop. It has the best view and atmosphere and I hope they can be more attentive to customers. That’s why it was not busy as everyone went next door.
