I stayed at this location while traveling with an EF group. Below are the concerns I shared with EF. * While I understand that air conditioning will not always be available, fresh air and the ability to move air should be. * My room did not have a ceiling fan for a portable fan. * The small bathroom and front windows did not allow air circulation as they did not face the prevailing winds. Additionally, since my room window faced the common area used by everyone, I had to leave my curtains closed to protect my privacy and not feel like an exhibition at the zoo for everyone walking by or sitting at the table directly outside my window. * While my room was almost unbearable, the rooms upstairs faced even more significant issues since heat rises and the roof had no insulation from the sun's heat. It was at least 95 degrees in the rooms upstairs that were being shared by multiple students. Such an environment is unsafe, especially since some rooms upstairs did not have fans and all faced the same air circulation issues as my room. * Several of the meals provided by the host family were not balanced, including one that was simply pasta and red liquid - no meat, the consistency of water, and no vegetables. * I complained about the noise outside my room while the local guides and host family played cards late at night. When I shared my concerns, I was basically ignored and told to use the earplugs I mentioned having. They continued to play cards and gamble with change past 11 PM when I finally dozed off. As a backpacker, I know what it's like to stay in hostels; nevertheless, for the cost, I was extremely disappointed.
