Hotel Bonaventure Montreal

The hotel is located in a bustling central area, though it's a bit of a walk to Chinatown (about 15-20 minutes). It seems to primarily cater to Western guests. The front desk is on the 10th floor. The hotel boasts a lot of external greenery, an artificial stream, and even ducks on its sky garden. Be aware that there are several steps between different sections of the hotel rooms. While there are ramps for luggage, it's still quite inconvenient, so I wouldn't recommend it if that bothers you. The room had one super large bed and a sofa bed right next to each other. Unlike some hotels that provide at least a partition between the sofa bed and the main bed, there's no privacy, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who value that. I stayed for two nights, and the hotel charged a C$250 deposit. A week after checking out on the 20th, the deposit still hasn't been refunded, which is a stark contrast to my later experience at the Hilton Vancouver (where the deposit was returned the very next day). If this is an issue for you, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Like hotels in the US, Canadian hotels generally don't provide slippers, toothbrushes, or toothpaste.

This hotel is located right across from the train station, which is super convenient if you're traveling by train. It's an incredibly large hotel, almost like an urban resort, with beautiful surroundings. It's a shame we only stayed one night; we had to catch an early train the next day and checked out very early.

Overall, I'm very satisfied, especially with the excellent location right opposite the central station. The room is spacious, well-equipped, and very convenient to use. The hotel also has a good design, and looking out the window at the small bridge and flowing water is very relaxing. However, the hotel's infrastructure is a major drawback; you have to take stairs in some areas from the lobby to the room, which is very inconvenient when you have luggage.

Great location and the hotel pool was amazing. I also appreciated being able to grab coffee in the lobby! The courtyard had birds and was a really relaxing space. It seems they no longer provide toothbrushes or slippers, as they weren't available.
