I'm sure many potential holiday makers have driven past Norwood House Receptions and either not noticed it, or considered it a reception venue only. That is their loss. Behind the reception area is a motel block respendant with collonade along the front making an impressive first impression. Don't get me wrong, some maintenance work needs to be done but the bones of the facility are all good, and the new owners know what needs to be done. Inside however the room was excellent, with a king bed and a king single, the most comfortable since my favoured Sheraton Hotel beds. The room was spotless and the price affordable. Special mention must go to the manager, Laurie, who went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. Important after day surgery at a nearby private hospital. Opt for one of his home cooked breakfasts for a special treat. We randomly chose to stay here due to its convenient location, close to all that Mornington offers. Our random choice turned out to be first prize in the lucky dip. We look forward to returning in coming months and to see the new owners plans develop into fruition.

We stayed at this Motel for anniversary weekend with a group of friends. The service was super efficient the room was very clean and spacious and the bed was comfy. Nicole the owner/manger was a superstar she was so friendly and was an added bonus that they had a bus onsite that she drove us to and pocked us up from our dinner reservation. Highly recommend this Motel.

Rooms are $200+ a night at the moment for a very basic motel room below a pub.... In Frankston... You can get decent rooms in the Melbourne CBD for that price. Rooms have been renovated in the past few years which is nice but grouting in the bathroom isn't clean and is getting scungy. Outlook from window is over the carpark and a muddy river - no privacy if you want to leave the blinds open to let natural light in. The noise coming into the rooms is terrible - can hear everything going on in the corridor and everything happening in the carpark. Even worse is the constant scraping noise from chairs on the ceiling in the pub above (though this seems to mostly stop by about 10pm). Missing some of the little details such as only one towel and 1 drink for a two person/two bed room. Beds are firm but comfortable. On the plus side - location is fantastic if you need to be in Frankston - short walk to beach, loads of pubs, food options and shops just across the road. Free parking is plentiful (but not secure at all), free minibar is a nice touch and room service from pub upstairs is useful. Probably wouldn't consider staying here again unless the prices are lowered. Totally ok for a one night visit, if you can deal with the noise.

The location was perfect, in the heart of Frankston. The studio room was a good size and clean upon arrival. I had a very comfortable stay. The service staff were nice, arranged parking and offered excellent directions to the places I inquired about in Frankston.

By its website and advertising online through TripAdvisor and Booking.com it presents as a resort. Not the case, however, as it is a motel. This is only apparent on arrival, where they not longer hide the fact and you see signs for Fairways Resort Motel and the layout of a motel, plain as day. I'd give them this, it is pretty good for a motel. There was room service every day to make the bed, refresh the towels and amenities and it was done discreetly and promptly after we left each. The room was clean and check in was easy. Overall, however, a motel but not what I signed up. I feel misled by some good website design and I was disappointed to find a motel rather than a resort. Realising when you arrive ensures it is too late to find new accommodation, so I felt stuck and like the wool had been pulled over my eyes.

Our booking experience was professional and helpful. A new, young staff member was fantastic when we booked. Upon arrival we were greeted by two reception staff, one senior who was training another new staff member. The appearance was friendly, the senior staff member stating it was unusual that we had provided our PO Box address, proceeding to ask for a Drivers Licence while she recorded our residential address, without our approval. We were also asked to provide our debit card, despite the room cost being paud in full, in advance. We were informed that an additional $100 would be deducted from our account, despite explaining this would affect our travel budget. We were informed it is ”policy”. The senior staff member proceeded to say that we would get the funds returned about 3/4 days following our checkout and stated that she would get around to processing it the day after we checked out! When we requested a slightly later check out it was a hard ”No” from the senior reception staff member, who frankly had a personality not suited to friendly customer greeting guest services. The room however was lovely. Dinner staff in the function room were friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the open room in November 2021 for a night. The accomodation is a short drive up from where the reception is, so don’t bother unloading your bags before checking in. The room was absolutely lovely. We were on the bottom floor in the corner so the view was a little underwhelming, but that didn’t matter. The glass windows and the glass on the balcony looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a long time which was a little disappointing but overall we were very happy with our experience. The location is very peaceful and beautiful.

Once I had found the bistro, I was pleasantly surprised - great decor, plenty of seating for lunch and a large area which was glassed in and the seats looked comfy. I had the fish and chips and my 2 friends had the calamari and chips and peking duck in envelopes. The waitresses looked after us, even to getting some 'real' cream for her sticky date pudding. So for pleasant surrounds (incl the toilets) and lunch (no seniors here) you can't go far wrong. But you need a car unless a long walk from Centre Dandenong Rd. At least there is the 828 bus which I took to get to Boundary Rd.

Excellent
CChristina_chenThe room and bathroom are very large, but the breakfast is simple, but it is still good. It seems that there is a small city swimming pool. It has not passed. The hotel is not far from the place to eat and the supermarket. Mornington Island is very big. It is worth spending a few more. It’s a good day, there is a zoo on the island where you can take a photo of koala.
GGuest UserLarge room- but missing somewhere to sit and eat. For such a large room strange that there is no table and chairs as there is more than enough room. Breakfast is included- in a COVID safe way. Cereal is in small single use pack-the only issue is bread just in a bag. In the current climate I’m not sure if people are happy to rely on some else hygiene standards. Maybe a single muffin sealed in a single use. The locations is on a main road, which I was aware of-but may put some off. Windows are of good quality and stop the noise. The motel is above a bistro and hotel so no need to walk far for dinner. The bistro has a wide range and offer a senior special $20 for 3 courses. The meals are huge and of good quality.
