The front desk attendant was a woman in her fifties, speaking incredibly loudly, as if she was arguing. Having traveled to twenty countries, I've never encountered such a front desk before – it was truly an eye-opener. She was incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude, making for a very unpleasant experience. The carpet in the room was extremely dirty and old, feeling thick with fine dust. I found spiders on the wall twice and was afraid of being bitten in my sleep. Aside from the bed, the room had a very narrow aisle, so narrow that two people couldn't pass each other; one person had to get on the bed to let the other pass. Essentially, only one person could walk in the aisle at a time – it was tiny. Besides the bed, there was no space to stand. Luggage and shoes had to be shoved under the bed, otherwise even one person couldn't move around. Suitcases had to be lifted onto the bed to be opened. The room was only about five square meters, yet it had a 1.3-meter-wide bunk bed, which felt incredibly suffocating. There was no soundproofing in the room; I could hear people snoring in the adjacent rooms. One night, a group of young people in the room next door ran up and down the hallway outside my door, making noise all night, so I didn't get any sleep. I could also clearly hear other guests opening and closing their doors normally, and every morning I was woken up very early by a neighbor's door opening and closing, after which I couldn't fall back asleep. The second-floor hallway had a leak from the ceiling, with a small bucket placed in the middle of the path to catch the water. After checking out, if you need to store your bags, they charge 120 rubles per bag, regardless of size. I was charged 240 rubles for one medium suitcase and one small backpack, and you can only store them for eight hours. Most importantly, the front desk staff had an awful attitude and casually handled guests' bags. One day, an elderly Chinese man was reprimanded by the front desk because the water dispenser was out of power. The old man went into his room and didn't come out for a long time. The power outage was the hotel's fault, yet they scolded the old man. I advise everyone to avoid this place. Traveling is supposed to be enjoyable and a good experience. Running into such a shrew at the front desk and a suffocating room will definitely ruin your mood. You'll end up feeling constantly anxious during your stay. The service was terrible. The room was smaller than a domestic toilet, and the soundproofing was even worse. The owner was really pretentious. They even charged 60 RMB for a proof of stay, and I lost some belongings.

Very close to Red Square, only 1.9 km, and also very close to the subway station, making it convenient for travel. The bedding was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Many tourists need rubles, so I suggest the front desk offer a currency exchange service. I also recommend that taxi drivers accept multiple currencies and supermarkets allow payment in various currencies; this would definitely boost Russia's economy, as Chinese people love to travel and shop. It has become a 'Chinese dormitory' due to its affordability, good location, and ease of finding. Turn left then left again when you leave, and there's a supermarket 300 meters away with incredibly cheap bread. You can cook here and share taxis.

Winterfell is a Russian hotel chain; I saw many locations, and this one had the highest rating. It feels more like a hostel, suitable for solo travelers. You have a private room, but it's quite small, basically only good for sleeping. The shared bathroom is clean, the room is warm, and there's an induction cooker so you can cook your own meals. Surroundings: It's a bit of a walk from the metro station. The rooms are bright yellow, and it's located along the river, making it easy to find. There are many dining options near the metro station, and a Forabank offers good currency exchange rates. There's also a gas station near the hotel where you should be able to exchange currency. One highly recommended feature is its proximity to the Yoompney city center office (free physical card application, opens at 9 am, 4th floor), about a 10-minute walk. This is perfect for your first hotel after arriving in Russia; you can easily get your card and start exploring the next morning. Luggage storage costs 120 rubles per piece.

The fact that there was a charge for luggage storage wasn't mentioned at the time of check-in. I specifically asked if luggage storage was possible upon check-in, and they said yes. If it's a chargeable service, the price should be clearly displayed at the front desk. Front desk staff have an obligation to inform guests of the fees, instead of just posting a piece of paper in a corner and then rudely telling them they can't take their luggage without paying. This isn't an isolated incident; I checked the front desk and there are many other rooms that will be charged this way. It's not a large sum of money, and it's better to avoid trouble abroad. The service afterwards was also terrible; it was like they just dumped my luggage and me there.
