Stayed here a few times and met some interesting people, and had fun chats. Towards the end way to many long term stayers. Homeless and government assisted types. One in particular abysmally atrocious, entitled Kkondae-jil" (꼰대질) old k0rea. Took my table i was using and refused to give it back. Another time shut all the windows I had previously opened, and told me to shut up. A pair of very old women, (one was above my bed), was waking me up at past midnight and then coming in dorm and messing with zips and bags on bed until after 2am and 3am. Totally unreasonable neurotic and hostel allows these types and won't warn them or evict them. I was in fact told and questioned if I could cope with the woman as she was going to stay a long time. Good luck to the person who sleeps under her shenanigans when I leave. They will not sleep as she goes up and down the squeaking stairs, and messes with zips like demented. The stairs squeak horribly on the bed. Several times saw me go to toilet and shut the door on me to the dorm. Horrid homeless woman who is longterm staying in hostel and her stuff had taken up all her space and mine
Toilets and washrooms sometimes reek. I went in one day and poo and piss flooded all over floor in one toilet. Upon entering main door downstairs sometimes it stinks of a sewer and the smell travells all the way to the living area upstairs. No free samples on last few visits either and tea wasn't topped up. Bed I arrived to on my last stay had black hairs on. There are always long black hairs in shower, toiet, and especially the washroom sink. It appears to be an East Asia thing as has happened throughout Japan, Korea, China. I find it gross.
No lockers for bags. I did not leave my bags in the room as if anything gets tampered or taken camera cant see. Its not good with no lockers for bags.
Its also way too crowded when hostel is full as half the amount of people is adequate for a property this size. Its only one level which is equivalent to two apartments joined together. Its not at all comfortable when unit is full. Especially as it appears to be focusing on long term locals, rather than holidaymakers. So many using this hostel as an actual home. These long termers take over and monopolise the hostel. Too crowded and place is too cramped as dorm rooms are small and too many people
And, a guy i chatted to said he bought strawberries, ate half the box and put them in the fridge. Next morning he said they were gone? Did not like that there were no lights until 7.26am in kitchen and seating areas. This did not minimise noise as tv was on all night or early morning and washer dryer was also. So, controlling the lights not to on until 7.26am was nonsensical. Did not enjoy eating at dining table as men's toilets were infront of eating area with the door always wide open. Everytime I closed it someone would keep it open. Vile. Last night, in the morning fresh blood on the toilet seat and a bunch of blood tissues on the top of another bin. Yuk
Pictures of one person the old woman above my bed all the stuff blocking up everywhere. There was even more of her stuff blocking my bed space until I got her to remove it.
Not enough space in small room for baggage as I tripped over shoes and bags daily. I kept my bag out of the room as no space and no locker
Anyways got help with luggage from live in worker. He is a pleasant chap and easygoing. Also chatted with some interesting folk before departing. Most guests were OK and no bother. Only two rotten apples.
