Wonderful colonial style hotel on the bank of the river away from the town. Very peaceful and calm. The ambiance and decor of the main reception and lounge area was excellent. Large pool with plenty sun beds. The chalet was well appointed, with lots of thought going into the small details. The bed was very comfortable and the "open air" toilet / shower area was quite unique. We had dinner in the evening which was a set meal. We used the "free" kayaks to explore down river to the beach which was very enjoyable. They also have free bikes available.... There is no WiFi in the chalets but this is perhaps understandable as the chalets are spread out around the grounds. The WiFi was good in the reception area. In summary, it's such a wonderful place that I just wish we had stayed longer, so relaxing. Ideal for the beginning and end of your trip, as it's not too far from the airport. I would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

What a lovely place to start your exploration of Sri Lanka, not far from the airport. The management and staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and any advice you need they will help you. The food for breakfast and dinner is really good. You can also borrow a Cannoe to go up to lagoon or borrow a bicycle too explore the area, all for free. I really recommend this hotel.

We stayed one night at this well run lodge which has beautiful surroundings by the river and with a garden. The house and rooms have an old style and are nicely decorated with details. It's super clean. Staff are helpful and kind. The food was great! I loved this place! It will not disappoint you.

This was a lovely place to relax at the end of our holiday traveling round Sri Lanka. Quite and beautiful with a lovely pool. The food was good and the staff were helpful. The rooms were large, well equipped and comfortable. The whole place was very attractive and I would certainly recommend it. My only criticisms were a lack of wifi in the room and the dogs were a little scary at first. We loved the pet cow.

Fantastisch hotel. Grote kamer met muskietennet, groot heerlijk zwembad in een prachtige tuin. Zowel ontbijt als avondeten zijn heerlijk. De kok overlegt met je en maakt steeds wat anders. Je loopt in 10 minuutjes naar het strand, te veel golven om te zwemmen, maar wel leuk om wat te drinken.

Uitstekend hotel, rustig gelegen aan de Gin Oya. Je kan veel vogels spotten in de tuin van het hotel. Uitstekend (en groot zwembad), ruime kamers, goede douche en goed werkend airco. Ontbijt & avondeten zijn heerlijk, personeel erg vriendelijk. Je kan gratis gebruik maken van kayaks ter plaatse, wat ook zeker een aanrader is.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans l hôtel ( et la journée complète avant) pour se remettre du vol. Tout est très propre et plutôt bien équipé. Surtout, les propriétaires sont très à l'écoute. Ils nous ont proposé le bateau pour rejoindre la plage, mais nous n'avons pas fait à cause de la fatigue. Ça reste un super premier souvenir du Sri Lanka
