The Panari Hotel - Near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

Panari’s reputation and level of commitment to clients seem to be dwindling with every stay that we book. This time round the check-in process was such a mess - we arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 pm (11th Aug 2026) and they were utterly unprepared for us. My children were checked into a room that was shockingly messy (see attached photos). The change over process to an alternative room took way so long and there was confusion as to which room needed an extra bed - it was simply chaotic and frustrating. Worse still, the staff were unapologetic. Not even a single staff came to speak with us about this incident - a sharp contrast from our experience staying at a competitor hotel ( a week before) where the staff and team leaders regularly stroke very warm conversations with us- showing genuine concern and care! At some point during our stay, the bathroom door malfunctioned and we couldn’t open it. We called the landline so many times, no response. I had to Google to find the front desk’s mobile phone number, which I called and was quickly answered. This shows how uncaring the hotel is towards guests who have already checked in. They are quick to answer phone calls coming from outside! Such a shame … Another issue - my daughter left her dental retainers in one of the rooms during our stay in early July. We called the hotel to follow up and they promised to investigate and get back to us. To date, no one has ever given us any feedback. The restaurant staff are quite friendly and the food is largely okay. However, they run out of food on the night of Wed 12th Aug even though we had booked half-board (breakfast and dinner). The options that we were given were limited - no value for the money they charged us. Also the very day in the morning, guests had to wait for over 15 minutes for breakfast food to be refilled - showing how disorganised the hotel management is. Thing is definitely our last time staying in this hotel.

Check in process was smooth and fast. Hotel and restaurant staff are very friendly, kind and flexible. The location is convenient- very close to the airport and city centre. Food is brilliant - we booked half-board and enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner, with variety of food on offer. Some areas of improvement: We asked for a baby cot but what was provided was an old dirty wooden bed with adult linen/ bedding - not appealing at all and lacked that babyish touch - not given some clear thought. It appears as though the hotel isn't ready for families with babies/infants! The management should seriously think of giving facilities an uplift to ensure clients have a peaceful and memorable experience. For example the rubber lining on the refrigerator in our room (we hooked an Executive room! ) was so dirty. The landline phones are old fashioned and some not functional. Also it took too long for the phones to be answered, while in some cases never answered at all, and worse still no follow up call back. There was also this disturbing intermittent noise (sounded like a machine) around the 11th floor that disrupted our sleep at night. These issues and lack of details do not match the star rating of this hotel. A great hotel, but one whose facilities have been neglected! We may come back, just for the friendliness of the staff and the delicious food!

Quite old but clean. The water could not get really hot but was not an issue as I stayed just for a night. ideal if you are having an early flight but too bad no free shuttle.

This hotel was decent overall. but it does feel a bit dated and very legacy.

The rooms were good. The housekeeping team refused to give us an additional water bottle. The check in took a while as they had bulk check in for cancelled flights. Overall a good hotel with good food.

Place is convenient. I like Flora my driver to and from the airport so amazing and bubbly

Perfect check in process. Clan and spacious, good location by airport for overnight stay. Breakfast and service also wonderful.
