Naries Namakwa Retreat

Such a great spot! The mountain suites are next level. Staff really friendly. Food excellent. Even a reasonable wine list and I am a wine snob. The only thing they could do is put a coffee plunger in the rooms and not instant sachets.

One of our favorite places in South Africa. The Mountain Suites are unique, remote and quirky; worthy of an architectural award. Views across the valley are spectacular. Saw all sorts of wildlife, while having drinks on the patio. Staff were attentive and friendly. Meals were served in the main building; portions were generous and well prepared. Although a little out of the way, we believe it is well worth the scenic detour.

Naries is indeed a relaxing and peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of our normal lives. Gracious and comfortable accommodation in the Cape Dutch style main house is complemented by sumptuous meals and friendly and efficient staff - views of the surrounding karoo countryside and the birdlife frequenting the birdbath fountain add to the beauty of the place. Hiking trails cater for those who enjoy exercise, and the pool is ready to cool one down in the heat of the day. Naries Namakwa Retreat is a special place.

About 25k outside of Springbok, Naries Namaquland retreat is an amazing place to unwind and get back to nature. We stayed in the main lodge and spent 2 days with wonderful food and hospitality.Clinton and his wife were great hosts. Clinton is especially knowledgable. The hikes are well marked on the estate, and along with all the small wildlife which will keep you entertained we were lucky enough to come across a herd of Gemsbok whilst out walking, a real treat to get up close with these magnificent creatures. Thanks for an amazing stay.

Naries Namkwa Retreat is a little gem in Namqualand. The beauty and tranquility of the place is amazing. Even though we were not there during the main season when everything is in bloom (which must be truly amazing), we enjoyed the landscape and the views very much! Our room was very nice (with A/C), and the the property was lovely with a big garden and a pool area. The food was very good and the service warm, friendly and efficient. I can definitely recommend this accommodation!

Great stay at this amazing place. The manager, Clinton and his wife run a great place, the food was really good, and the staff were friendly and courteous. The views are stunning, and the hiking trails are well maintained, with many hiking options, the afternoon by the pool is a great way to chill after a morning exploring the bush trails, plenty of wildlife around from the mice and hares that share the grounds with you, to the Springbok and the majestic Gemsboks. Will 100% come back when in the northern cape.
