Painted Turtle Guesthouse

It was an amazing exercise staying at Turtle, it’s in the middle of downtown, super close to ocean, restaurants and night life is good. I’m definitely staying there again! It was clean n neat, no one disturbed, guests were super friendly.

Quality Inn

We booked the Quality Inn Nanaimo for our stopover stay on the Island. This hotel is very new and the deco is modern and bright. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our check-in wasn’t smooth and took us much longer than anticipated as the staff encountered technical issues. We didn’t get to sign on the official registration but a paper with check-in details written by hand. Our room was located on the 3rd floor over looking the parking lot of an low-rise office building. The size of the guest room is spacious and the bathroom is bright and clean. Unlike other Quality Inns, this one doesn’t offer continental breakfast in the morning and there isn’t any breakfast eateries within walking distance. The hotel offers free all day coffee and tea in the lobby but it wasn’t appealing as the station seemed messy and dirty. Besides, the hotel offers free gated parking for their guests but the spots is limited. There are just around 20 spots in total and is on a first-come-first-serve basis. We ended up walking to the dinner restaurant as we don’t want to lose our spot when we come back later in the evening. In the lobby, there is a small room that serves alcohol and chicken wings starting from 5pm. Although they played loud music trying to create a bar atmosphere, the setup of the space is much more like a breakfast room/cafe. We didn’t eat or drink there. Overall, it is a good hotel to stay if you are in the Nanaimo area.
Courtyard Nanaimo

This hotel is brand new with comfortable bed and LED TV. The gym facilitate is well equipped. I’m quite satisfied except for the check-in at the counter where they couldn’t allow me to have my room 30 mins earlier because I booked the room with third party despite they had plenty of empty rooms. I needed to wait at the counter till the check-in time.
Inn on Long Lake

This hotel is a bit biased on Victoria Island. If it is not self-driving, it is very inconvenient. The hotel is relatively new. The facilities are relatively complete. There are hot springs. Facing a small lake, it was quite peaceful. There is a kitchen, but we don’t have time to cook by ourselves. The breakfast at the hotel is good, you can make your own waffles. Did not see the Chinese. Because there was only a foreign couple who went to the hot springs late. There is free parking.
Diplomat Motel

Great, the room is a small suite, clean and comfortable, the boss is not bad, the main thing is that the credit card does not have to pay the deposit, because the foreign credit card refund is more than two weeks, so like
