Xiang Yun Homestay (Shantou Nanao Island Branch)

Heads up! Avoid this place! I specifically came to Nan'ao Island for New Year's Day and spent half a month comparing various B&Bs with sea views. I finally booked this one, but upon check-in, I found it was completely different from the pictures advertised on the platform. The promotional photos showed large sea-view windows, clean decor, and comfortable facilities, but in reality, it was an old, dated room with dilapidated buildings outside the window. This huge discrepancy significantly marred my holiday experience. After discovering the issues, I immediately contacted the B&B staff to request a cancellation. To my surprise, the owner refused, offered no reasonable explanation or remedies, and outright denied any compensation or negotiation. I was extremely disappointed by their deceptive advertising and irresponsible attitude. In the end, Trip.com had to intervene and compensate me 40% of the room fee, while the owner only offered a symbolic 10% compensation, which amounted to just 80 yuan (our room fee was 806 yuan). My impression of Nan'ao Island has been severely negatively impacted solely by this B&B, and my vacation mood was completely ruined. I want to warn future travelers not to fall for this scam and have their mood spoiled. I hope the platform can strengthen its review process and protect consumers.

The room has a sea view, the view is amazing, the room is comfortable, big enough, and the hygiene is OK (except for the floor carpet which has some stains, which affects the score); but I want to complain about the location of this hotel, it is too hard to find, and I have to go around every time I leave and enter the hotel) There is no butler service, and the breakfast is super bad. In the early morning, the beverage cylinder put Coke and Sprite, I thought it was ice water, and added some coffee, the Sprite was iced, because the beverage cylinder did not have the content marked, and the coffee was not brewed by the waiter! I am really used to giving good reviews, but I really can't give one this time!

The location is good. The bus stop is right outside. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the tourist center. The room is very clean. The breakfast is simple and homely. The service staff responds promptly. In short, it is a very satisfactory stay.

To be honest, the view is beautiful. But it is backed by the road and is very noisy. I woke up many times during the night. The sound insulation is also poor.

The room was clean and tidy. Both rooms overlooked the sea. Unfortunately, it rained that day and it was super foggy, so I couldn't see anything. I ordered takeout supper and watched a movie in the B&B at night. One room was tatami, which was very suitable for living with children. The boss had a good service attitude. If we needed to add two quilts temporarily, the housekeeper would deliver them immediately. There were two free pick-ups on the island, so it was still very convenient. The room provided fruits, seaweed rolls, and soda. If we didn't finish them, we would pack them and eat them in the car. I will choose this B&B next time I go to Nan'ao Island.
