Nanjing Fuzimiao Yingtiandajie Atour Hotel

The front desk service was excellent, and the overall experience was fantastic.

Nanjing was just a quick stopover on our road trip, and we picked this hotel because it's quite close to the Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) attraction. We booked it late at night and checked in very late. It's a standard Atour hotel, so the amenities were what we expected, though the lighting was a bit too dim. When we arrived in the middle of the night, it was raining lightly, and the parking might have been a bit far, but someone helped guide my husband to the parking spot. The next day, when we checked out around noon, the front desk gave us bottled water, and it was even warm – such a thoughtful touch!

The hotel service was excellent. The environment was also pretty good, but the location description wasn't very accurate. I thought it was just a few minutes' walk to the Confucius Temple, but it actually requires a taxi. You can see the Pagoda of Bao'en Temple directly from the hotel at night, which is beautiful.

The service was excellent. They even deliver takeaways right to your room! The room itself is well-equipped, featuring a fridge, drinks, and coffee. Plus, they offer complimentary late-night congee. The only minor downside is that it's a bit of a walk from the subway station.

I recently decided to try Atour in Nanjing based on friends' recommendations. My honest review is that it falls short compared to typical chain hotels. We found hair in the bathroom corners, dust on the toilet tank, hair and dust on the sofa, stains on the water cups, and dirty chairs. It looked like after the previous guest checked out, they only bothered to change the sheets and trash bags, without a thorough cleaning. The lack of care and attention to detail was apparent everywhere. At 400 RMB a night, which I consider a mid-range price, it certainly didn't justify the cost. The hotel's location was even more disappointing. On the taxi ride over, the driver warned me that the hotel was quite far from Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple), which made me wonder why it's named 'Fuzimiao Atour'. The description states a straight-line distance of 3km, but that's certainly not the actual travel distance by road! As for the service, it was practically non-existent. Throughout my four-day, three-night stay, I didn't see a single smile from any staff member. And their advertised 'late-night congee' special? It was nowhere to be found.

The room was good, the air conditioning was effective, and parking was convenient. Service: The service was attentive, and plenty of bottled water was provided in the room. Late-night congee: Unfortunately, I returned too late and missed out.
