Courtyard by Marriott Nantong

The Courtyard by Marriott Nantong was impeccably clean, even in the corners. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful stay free from outside noise. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided great natural light and stunning city night views in the evening, creating a wonderful ambiance.

This is a new hotel, and the smell was incredibly strong. I switched rooms, and it was a little better, but still quite pungent. I was too tired to bother moving again. The breakfast selection was limited and poor quality, honestly worse than a budget hotel. No fish noodle soup, no 'wa di su' (a type of pastry), and the whole fruits were sticky, clearly unwashed. The fried items like fritters and spring rolls were cheap, pre-made, and greasy. The front desk staff during check-in looked utterly miserable. Laundry cost extra, the toiletries were cheap, and the overpriced beverages in the mini-fridge were several times more expensive than outside – good thing I didn't drink any. It just feels like this kind of setup is completely out of touch with current standards. All show and no substance, far inferior to Mercure or Atour.

The room was great, and the breakfast quality was good too. There's a shopping mall and a Sam's Club right across the street. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The room service was also excellent.

The room was new and very clean, and the service was excellent. It started pouring rain at checkout time, and Clara at the front desk proactively extended our checkout time, which was incredibly thoughtful.

Facilities: The hotel, newly opened in 2025, boasts excellent, modern facilities. Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom, which was impeccably maintained. Environment: The lobby is warm and inviting, with a great atmosphere. Service: The service was enthusiastic and attentive. A special shout-out to Gloria Wang at the front desk. We were taking our child out the next day and worried about missing checkout, so she thoughtfully provided a late checkout service. Ceramic DIY Single Experience Voucher (2 tickets): Our child had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the activity there.
