I am 1/25 staying in the double room on 606 and smelled a very strong smell of smoke as soon as I entered it. It was like the smell of smoke in KTV. Now, please ask the housekeeping staff to help deal with it. Because I have a one-year-old baby, I am very concerned about this problem. The housekeeping said that they have used the ozone machine. And said that they would take the ozone machine again, but the ozone machine could not be in it. I would like to ask us the time period we spent money to stay in, but people can't be in it. Great location as the hotel is right in the center of the Ita Thao town where you can easily walk to the lake, pier, hiking/bike trail, and foodie places. Hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help every step if asked. The high floor suite is sizable with fairly large jacuzzi tub and shower room. A private balcony provides a partial view to the lake. Free designated parking garage is a plus in a crowded town. The lake view however is partially blocked by some apartments in front but the hotel is still close to the water front. The hotel building, incl room, furnitures and decorations, does show some age and is about right to have its current star rating and price. We definitely enjoyed the stay.

Visited sun moon lake and held a small bday party in the room. Spacious room for balloons! The room still has plenty spaces even with two of my 1.5m number balloons. Balcony is perfect for Instagram shots, better use flashlight or else the background is lighter than your face. When we visited in December, there weren't much rain so a part of the lake close to the hotel is just muddy and brown, so just adjust the camera angle and your picture will still look nice. Close to the harbour, convenience stores, and the souvenir street. It has a huge parking lot 3 min away from the hotel, rmb to bring an umbrella in case it pours mid way. Elevators large enough to fit in a family of five with suitcases. The staff was nice and check us in efficiently. Tea and snacks are provided, and rooms are clean. They locate my granny's room next to us - really appreciate this. Overall, 10 out of 10. I'll definitely stay here next time I visit Taiwan. Btw I visited back in 2020/12 not 2021/12, trip advisor didn't provide me the option to choose 2020.

The good thing is that the hotel is strategically located right by the lake on the edge of the village. There is a floating dock with a location on it, where you can enjoy the view while drinking. It is a five-minute walk from the shops, restaurants and other living facilities in Yuchi Township. The hotel looks very beautiful, made of wood, the walls and ceilings of the room are also made of wood, there is a very warm and attractive feeling. Free wireless Internet is available. On the poor side, our room was obviously dirty. Several obvious spots on the beige carpet had a few large, uncomfortable-looking stains. There was a used wet towel on the floor of the shower room, which indicated that the cleanliness of the room and the level of preparation of the room were not high. The good side of the room is that the lake view is very beautiful (not all rooms can see the lake view), the bad room is that the room is just next to the lobby, so it is very noisy. After a few hours I told the front desk staff if they would mind turning the volume down a little bit, and they agreed. We could hear it though the business wasn't that loud. Another group gathered in the lobby before setting off, and the noise of their talking and laughing was loud in the room. So if you are staying at this hotel, I suggest you want a room a little further from the front desk. There is an indoor pool downstairs which is great if the water is warm. The water in the same jacuzzi is also very cold. This time of year this place is quite cold, especially at night, so it would be great if you could swim or soak in warm water. We didn't see a person swimming when we lived there. Now talk about breakfast: breakfast should have been from 7 to 9:30. We arrived at the restaurant at 9 o'clock and saw a smileless lady. She took our breakfast coupon and didn't say a word, and then we were the air. There was another employee at that time. A young male waiter. There were a lot of empty tables, but the tableware was not set. After a while we found that we had to do it ourselves, we looked around and found some tableware mats and knives and forks and arranged the table ourselves. Then we went to get something to eat. When you are looking forward to the general breakfast experience at a Taiwanese hotel - friendly welcome, lead you to the table, ask if you want coffee, thoughtful service, thank you when you leave, etc. - then Sun Moon Lake Lushan Forest International Hall is really funny compared to that. My wife and I have been constantly feeling the friendship and enthusiasm of the Taiwanese people during our two-week trip to Taiwan, and we are impressed and happy with this, so we will not be less impressed by Taiwan because of this unpleasant experience. However, if you want to feel the hospitality of Taiwan, I suggest you try other hotels. (Fortunately, we didn't have dinner in the hotel restaurant before, otherwise we would be disappointed twice. We went to the Regal Resort B&B 50 yards away and had a very interesting and enjoyable dinner in a garden lit by candles. The place also has guest rooms, full of artwork and tourist souvenirs. This one might also be a good choice in the area.)

The car passing by outside can be heard clearly, and even woke up by the garbage truck in the morning, but the counter lady is very kind, you can ask about travel questions, Riidayan Old Street is also very close, don't mind if there is no lake view to see it is good

This guesthouse is located in the centre of Ita Thao village/night market, only about 3 mins from Ita Thao Pier. There's a lot of food options in the area after dark, and some souvenir shops too. Most buses to Sun Moon Lake arrive at the main village of Shuishe though, so you'll have to take either a bus (something like $25NT, but don't quote me on this) or a ferry ($100NT) to Ita Thao - both come about every half hour. It's quite close to the cable car at Sun Moon Lake, and walkable, although I didn't end up going due to the intense fog that was present during our stay. Service was friendly, and the husband and wife owners run a tea shop and tofu night market stand downstairs. When we were hovering outside, wondering if we were at the right place - look for 日月美 in Chinese - the owner noticed us on the street and asked if we were there for Sun Moon Beauty! Turns out there is an English sign for ”Sun Moon Beauty”, but it's a lot smaller - it's a light up sign on top of the tofu cart. The room was really huge, with 2 large double beds, a vanity, a table and chair set, a wardrobe and TV. Beds were really comfortable!! Hot shower was great as well and the bathroom was big. We were quite in need of doing laundry at this point of our trip hahaha, and thankfully they were more than happy to let us use the washing machine downstairs, and the owner even came and started the machine for me and let me take as many extra hangers as I wanted. Overall, owners were super friendly and helpful, and the room was really comfortable! (Just be aware that there are stairs up to the rooms, although we had backpacks so it wasn't an issue for us). We were even given a box a tea from their shop as a gift, which was super nice of them!! I highly recommend this place for your stay at Sun Moon Lake!!
