The location is fantastic! We had such a relaxing time. There were many international tourists, and the staff were globally-minded and excellent. I would definitely want to stay here again if I visit Naoshima.

The room offers a fantastic sea view. It's an uphill walk to get there, but there are signs everywhere, making it convenient. The hotel has bikes for rent, but we rented from a city shop – the prices were the same. Dinner needs to be ordered in advance; we emailed and still made it. That's quite odd. Breakfast is offered in two types – Japanese or European, but there's not much difference in content. The beds are comfortable, and the hotel is quiet. There are many different books, which we enjoyed browsing through.

Although I was a bit worried about the watch being high up, it was definitely within walking distance and the view was excellent. The stain on the sofa was a bit disappointing, but the bathroom cleanliness was perfect. Breakfast was satisfactory, though dinner was on the pricey side. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in! The island is stunning, and the sea view from the room, especially at sunset, is absolutely breathtaking! The service is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's super convenient to rent bikes to get around the island. Plus, there are adorable, friendly ginger cats on the property!

Stayed here for one night on our second visit to Naoshima in almost 10 years. The lodge is quite close to the main port, but it’s up on a hill — so if you’re travelling with heavy luggage, the walk up can be a bit of a workout. That said, there’s a luggage delivery service about a 5-minute walk from the port. We paid around ¥2,800 for two large suitcases (pickup and return), which made things much easier. Bike rental was about ¥1,500 per day. The lodge itself is clean and fairly spacious. Being on top of the hill gives you a really nice view over the island and out to the ocean. AC worked well, everything was straightforward, and nothing really went wrong. Simple, comfortable stay. Would consider staying again.
