On my annual trips to Ischia, I like to stop off in Naples. The Mercure Hotel is particularly suitable for this as it is very close to the boat dock where I continue my journey. I love sitting on the hotel's breakfast terrace with my friends or relatives who are travelling with me, overlooking the harbor and the city's sights, and enjoying the very good breakfast.

Very good stay, the hotel is well located and the staff is very welcoming. The only problem is that in the bathroom the shower screen does not completely close the area. As a result, even if you are careful when taking a shower, the entire bathroom is flooded.

The front desk of the hotel is very poor, the English is very bad, and they don't take the initiative to explain that the mini bar can be used for free. Just simply put in the room card and sent it away. The hardware of the hotel is very old. Although the location is good, it is really not recommended to live here.

This is a very good central hotel with a short walk from the port . Great gym , very clean and functional rooms ( not very big ) . Sound proof windows , amazing gym and breakfast in a terrace with a beautiful view of Nuevo castle. The staff were also helpful and friendly.

The most important thing about a hotel is the quality of sleep it provides, and in this regard this hotel fails completely, as it is unable to provide even a minimally restful sleep, for the beds are horrible, with deformed springs, and the pillows are hard as rocks. The towels were extremely worn, on the verge of tearing. The room is very small, and even so the air conditioning system seemed insufficient to cool the air. The minibar was noisy. As for the staff, they are cold, they don't know how to smile, they seem not to like their work, as they are always irritated and speak shouting, all of them. On this vacation, we've been to Venice, Florence, Rome and Naples. This was, without doubt, the worst hotel we stayed in Italy.

The hotel has a beautiful terrace overlooking the port and the Gulf of Naples, giving breakfast a magical feeling. It is strategically located. Most of the Napoli downtown attractions are within walking distance. The hotel does not have a bar, and the room was quite small. The staff was very nice. The hotel put me in touch with their trusted driver, Mr. Francesco Pugliese. With him, I visited the Phlegraean Fields (Pozzuoli), Herculaneum, and Pompeii. I spent a pleasant day conversing with him, and he shared many unique anecdotes about the tourist attractions I was visiting and about the lives of Neapolitans. Pugliese explained all the issues related to the frequent earthquakes in the Phlegraean Fields, giving me insight into the lives of Neapolitans both in the present and at the time of the eruption of Vesuvius. Therefore, Pugliese is not only an excellent driver but also a knowledgeable guide. The price he charged for the day was fair. I recommend visiting the surroundings of Naples with him if you have little time but still want to see a wonderful area in a short time.

We stayed here for 3 nights after visiting Sorrento. Staff were friendly and the hotel is clean and modern and only 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. Our room was on the second floor, bright, clean and with a small balcony. The bathroom was a bit old and the shower took a while to warm up. It also had a balcony. Bed was comfy. We had high hopes for breakfast, but it was just ok. No bar at the hotel either.

Good location - not far from airport and half hour walk to central train station where a lot of day tours to Pompeii go from and trains only hour and quarter to Rome. Despite reviews of Naples, never felt unsafe, good array of restaurants etc near by on main roads. Our room overlooked the court yard near restaurant so a little road noise in the evenings - definitely take your ear plugs if a light sleeper! Reception staff very friendly and helpful with booking us taxis to the airport and an Amalfi day trip with Francesco. Rooms basic but clean, fine for a base and we spent very little time there as were out and about all day. Beds quite firm, so depends on preference. Soap and shower gel provided but no shampoo/conditioner. Find it irritating when hotels supply paper cups for in room tea/coffee, surely better for environment to just have normal cups than keep replacing disposable cups. Reasonable breakfast on offer with nice view.

Despite being in a prime location and a four star hotel, it was quite poor at services for the amount they charged. It wasn't worth the money we paid, which was 500 euros per night. Was it a nominal charge because we were tourists? We overheard a conversation of a receptionist with another family where she asked about their budget which made us think that rooms could be available at much lower price. Privilege rooms were small, very noisy and failing to offer a room with two single beds for my kids was very poor considering the price they charged. My son ended up with a neck pain after sleeping in a folding bed. Therefore next time in Naples we will go to Marriott. To be fair cleaning staff was very friendly.

We stayed here part of a night for a layover before a very early flight. Front staff was friendly. Hotel was lovely and located within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and sites.

This Mercure is very well located indeed for the heart of Naples, including the port, Opera house, Piazza Plebiscito, Palazzo Reale etc. It is well connected to the railway station at Municipio metro station. The hotel is unassuming, but clean and efficient. Staff helpful. I shall certainly use again
