Hotel Nikko Nara

Great location, very close to the train station. The soundproofing is excellent, so it's not noisy. The hotel breakfast is good. The service was fantastic; I felt the first room had an odor, and they kindly moved me to a better-smelling one.

The hotel's location is great, right next to the JR station, making it very convenient to get to tourist spots and dining areas. It's a Nikko Hotel, so it meets international standards.

Everything was excellent, I loved it! 💕 There was a lovely lady at the front desk who was a compatriot. She was so patient, polite, and friendly, and helped me find a quiet room. The single room was very cozy. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My favorite was that vegetable and tofu soup – so tasty and comforting.

This hotel exudes an old-money Japanese charm. The rooms are spacious and incredibly clean, and the lobby is grand. They offer various Nara-specific experiences. For breakfast, you can enjoy a wide array of Nara snacks right here, avoiding the crowds outside while still getting a premium experience. There's even a floor dedicated to hot springs, and you get complimentary ice cream after your soak – it's fantastic! Overall, it's a hotel with excellent value for money.

The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the service was excellent all around. The breakfast had a distinct Nara flavor, and the location was convenient with frequent transportation options, which was a huge plus. However, the facilities are undeniably dated. While clean, I personally felt the overall experience wasn't as good as hotels with newer facilities. Also, I stayed for two nights, and on the second day, I noticed there was no cleaning service; only the water was replaced and the trash emptied. If cleaning requires putting out a sign, I suggest the hotel specifically mentions this at check-in or notes it on a information sheet. Other hotels I've stayed at, like Daiwa Roynet and Hilton, usually have clear instructions or indicators for this.
