Garden City Hotel, Signature Collection Reviews

Hotel was in good location for our needs. Our room had a toilet that would run intermittently throughout the night… sounded like filling up the cistern. Also our air con in the room woke us up at 6am as it made a loud noise (like paper in a fan). I was scared it was going to blow up and was startled to say the least. Buffet breakfast was supposed to be full Irish/English. Not sure about that one. The buffet was run (the greeting, cleaning and clearing of tables as well as the refilling of the buffet)- heaps of work for one person. When we went to the buffet there was next to no food as it simply ran out and the girl was that busy she couldn’t keep an eye on everything… a very mediocre buffet @$25 I think you could go elsewhere. Also there were a lotion patrons filling insulated flasks from the coffee making facilities. I thought this was very unhygienic to say the least. To top it all off the second night we stayed we awoke to a child playing the recorder… at 6am not the best start to my day… not the hotels fault…. But just added to my list of favourite things at this hotel…

overall okay for an overnight stay, need a little maintenance, carpet and bathroom a little aged.

Excellent free parking spacious room. They weren’t fuss that I didn’t have a physical credit card on the first day to put on their account because I was in that location due to one of my children needing to go to the local hospital there. I love the flexibility.

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel due to poor communication and inconsistent billing. At check-in, the receptionist clearly informed us that a full breakfast would be $20 per adult and free for our toddler. As we had to prebook a night before. Based on this, we agreed. However, at check-out, we were told there was no record of this arrangement and were charged $70 for two adults and one toddler. This lack of transparency and failure to honour what was promised left us feeling misled and extremely frustrated. It’s unacceptable for guests to be quoted one price and then charged something completely different without any documentation or accountability. Overall, this experience has significantly impacted our impression of the hotel. I strongly recommend future guests double-check and get any verbal agreements in writing to avoid similar issues.

Very clean and cozy. Very co-operative and helpful staff. Restaurant not open everyday.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Clean room, comfortable bed, wifi, aircon and as a bonus they have a buffet breakfast. Great location with on-site parking included and the German pub right next door for dinner within walking distance

Bed is on the soft side but good shower. Short drive to attractions.

Service was great! Place was clean, bed was very comfortable. It's easy to find with parking on-site. Good breakfast provided is an added bonus!
