Had a good experience one week holiday. Hotel is a family hotel. Perfect if you just want to relax by the pool or beach. Staff work very hard keeping the area clean & tidy for guests. A good selection of food everyday - plenty of choice. Free bottles of water given at bars. The asset of this hotel is the beach location, it is not close to any other shops or bars. We did walk to nea poteidaia one day but would not recommend the walk to anyone with mobility issues or prams, due to state of some of the paths . Hotel runs a courtesy bus to a couple of nearby places . The hairdryers were good so no need to pack your own. WiFi signal was excellent indoors & out. There is book shelf if you run out of reading materials. My partner was badly bitten by mosquitoes which meant we did not venture out to pool entertainment at night. Closest pharmacy in the nearby towns so do pack things you might need. There is a shop onsite . There is also what looks like a nice jewellers in the hotel but no prices on display which put me off venturing in (assumed it must be expensive) As someone who has travelled solo many times I would say this felt a safe place to be. So if you want to chill & relax this isa good place to go.

We stayed at the end of July early August as a family of 4. We had a great time! The kids loved the swimming pool areas. The one con about the splash pool area is the gritty bits on the steps of the slides are a bit dangerous! My son slipped twice and has ended with some very nasty graze cuts and will most probably scar his legs. The life guard was very good and gave first aid to him. Loved being on the beach front, I will say 100% take swim shoes. It’s a bit rocky walking in. The food options were so-so. Always hot food, always laying new food out etc. I think the hot food for breakfast ends too early!! 8:45-9:30am avoid if you can sooo hectic! Unfortunately; we are not early risers so we always hit the last rush of it all! I think ending the breakfast at 10am for hot food would be a lot better. I still cannot understand why at the lunchtime buffet they had a lovely marina sauce for pasta but at dinner it was just plan pasta …. Baffles me still! All the kids were just eating plan pasta! One last thing for the food, theme nights - not sure they understood what a theme night was? One evening there was spring rolls and prawns crackers but where was the rest of the oriental theme food! Considering we was in Greece there was never a theme night for Greek good which I think was a shame! It seemed to be more catered for German and Italian tourists! Maria - who seems to be guest relations around the main pool/ taverna area was always helpful and always had a smile on her face! The spa: all the members of the spa team were fantastic! My kids had the kids massages and loved them. I had a massage from George and he was very professional and gave a lovely massage. Definitely go visit when staying. It was my daughter birthday whilst at the hotel and they catering staff made her a lovely cake for the occasion. The rooms (138) are a tad small… we had to live out our suitcases as we had the sofa bed out and an another bed in to cater for 4 people. It meant the sofa cushions went into the wardrobe where you would place your clothing! The aircon was ok kept the room cool but we had to switch off at night as it made an awful, awful noise! Possibly something loose in the fan part?! The location - I prefer to be within walking distance of shops and restaurants and unfortunately you cannot do at this hotel. There is a free hotel bus which takes you to the towns either side. Or the reception staff can call a taxi. But tbh, we never really felt the need to leave as the kids loved the pools and beach. We did do the pirate boat tour that we booked via our rep with Jet2 and had a fantastic day trip out. In all, we had a lovely time but we wouldn’t return. But glad we came and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Portes Beach hotel! Thank you for a wonderful time.

Absolutely loved this hotel and everything about it. We visited as a family of four during half term May 25 for 10 days. Have mostly everything positive to say about this hotel staff very friendly food very nice and variety every night. Plenty of sunbeds to sit wherever you want either around the pool or somewhere a bit quieter in the lovely grounds. Hotel is right on the beach, so you feel like you have your own private beach with the hotel. We loved that there are free canoes and pedelo boat to use. Plenty of water sports too, if you want to pay extra for jet skies etc. two pools one with slides and fountains for the little ones. The only downside is the entertainment at night wasn’t great for the standard of the hotel. The best it got most nights was bingo and quizzes however we joined in and it was fine for the age of our children. (11&13) There is a mini disco for little ones every night and they do a kids club with activities. A point for the hotel maintenance- put some oil on the kids swings they squeak like mad and we could hear them all day in our favourite sun bathing spot. Kettles can be hired for free from reception rooms hair dryer in bathroom and fridge rooms cleaned every day. Safety deposit box is 15euro charge. No where really to walk to but free shuttle to local towns daily. Will defo return thank you for a wonderful time x

Went to this hotel with children and grandchildren. The rooms were very dark, but that was not really an issue. Maybe a brighter bulb for the evenings? The bed was rock hard bit that was OK it's how I like it. The food was really quite good, I wouldn't say that there was a good kids selection but the didn't grow hungry so that was good. The beach and pool area were clean and well maintained. All in all was happy with the hotel for a family holiday,

Firstly the good points: The Ages Spa is lovely, the massage by Stella was particularly lovely. She took so much care and helped a breastfeeding mama feel relaxed and sorted out my sore shoulders! Unfortunately the food is terrible at the hotel, the smell of backed up drains greets you every morning and there is no proper food labelling or allergen control. I emailed ahead of our stay to say two of our party have milk allergies but there was little provision made, just soy milk at breakfast if requested but the rest of the buffet food was unlabelled and a lot of dairy- even grated cheese unnecessary scattered over vegetables and salad when there was a bowl of the stuff out not 50cm away! The reception staff were very helpful with all things and very kind, but the overall experience was average.

Victoria, Helena and Panagiotis @ Aegeo Spa were great. Very professional. I had the deep tissue and the anti stress massage and I came out like a new person. Highly recommended. Best holiday treat. The hotel itself is also amazing all of the staff are so helpful and very friendly. The Food offered in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner has lots of options to choose from. We had the fried squid for lunch and it was so fresh and delicious. Prices are very fair also. I will come back again.

I went to the spa. Stella and Victoria were very attentive and friendly. I had a deep massage with Panagiotis. He was very professional, and Eleni was amazing with my reflexology massage. I recommend 100% this Spa.

We have arrived back after a 5 day stay and all I can say is amazing! The hotel grounds are botanical, clean and beautiful our room was good and cleaned regularly. The food was so good we all went back for a second plate including my 1 year old son who couldn’t get enough of the cuisine. Special mention to Maria who served us regularly she was so lovely and enjoyed seeing my son and his smiles daily. Another special mention to Stella the masseuse, she gave me an amazing massage and was great company to talk too I will not forget them both. Overall a great stay and we will deffo return the only downside is the kids pool water machines turn off at 2pm which I think is too early if you’re coming with young children they won’t get to enjoy it fully if you get to the pool after 2pm.

The spa was an amazing experience. As a busy dad and business owner down time comes as a rarity. Stella was incredible to the point I fell asleep. For anybody looking to escape the world for an hour I highly recommend.
