We decided on this hotel due to the location and the pictures we had seen that make it look so nice so lets start on entering the room. The room itself is a reasonable size with a couple of chairs, dressing table area with TV a basic room really. We were at the front of the building overlooking the road and we didn't have a problem with this but beware the balcony has a large glass plated area up the front of the building which made the balcony feel a bit claustrophobic and the little glass panels between balconys gave absolutely no privacy from the guest's in the adjoining rooms. The mattress was rock hard with the worlds smallest cover felt more like a cot blanket than a proper bed cover. The pillows weren't much better. The bathroom was ok but the shower was not very good and the water only ever felt warm never hot and the shower would fill up with water as it came out quicker than it drained away the water pressure was excellent. I would say that the bathroom was definitely ready for a makeover and the room could do with a bit of attention ( just in case your wondering why we didn't ask to change rooms well we did but was told that there were no rooms available until well into our stay and if we moved there was a daily charge as they would only have upgraded rooms. We was going to move as soon as we could but after talking to others staying we didn't think we would actually get a better room) . So let's move onto the all inclusive food and drink. Well the drinks are really what you would expect if you have ever stayed at a budget all inclusive but the food well if I had written this review after the first four days then it would have been a terrible review as the food was awful it was cold and either under cooked or over cooked and I'm not a fussy eater but I really struggled to find something that looked appetising but on the fifth day of our stay the food got hotter and the choice seemed better and was generally better cooked so at least it improved but was still very hit and miss throughout the rest of our stay. The pool area now this looked really big in the pictures with a lovely decked area with sunbeds plentiful this is really not the case the pool is really not that big ( have seen bigger children pools ) and there are really not that many sunbeds and the toppers that go on top of the loungers had definitely seen better days also there always seemed to be more loungers than toppers to go on top of them. Ok I suppose if you don't mind laying on a hard wooden lounger . If you can't get a lounger and you want to sunbathe then there is a beach area a few minutes walk up the road where you can hire 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for 24 Lev. The bar areas are ok the Marina bar off the lobby area was pleasant with an indoor and outdoor seating area and they had a few comfortable seats outside but the bar closes dead on 11PM and you will be asked to leave. The Sky bar is at the rear of the pool area on the roof and has mainly outdoor s

Sol Marina Palace is in a superb location. The hotel overlooks a little beach and is a ten minute walk down the causeway to the beautiful world heritage town of Nesebar. We arrived in the early hours, and found the room clean and perfectly appointed, but decided the following day to upgrade to the other side of the hotel. This gave us a view of old Nesebar, the sea, and the party resort of Sunny Beach in the distance. We absolutely loved Nesebar and walked in most evenings (it was far too hot in the day), and enjoyed some wonderful meals out or a Bulgarian vodka or two whilst watching the hustle and bustle of Nesebar. There’s so much to see in the town…more than we thought. Very Instagramable! The hotel food was fine (I’ve had better and worse elsewhere). I’m vegetarian and I always found something to eat - plenty of vegetables, salads and fruit. The labelling would occasionally be wrong. It would help if this was better for vegetarians. The hotel provides a seven course dining experience for guests staying more than five nights. The food was delicious (but as a veggie I had to miss a course…please add a dish for veggie’s instead of prawn tempura…even some olives would do). All inclusive drinks were fine. There was a particularly nice pink gin, and I’m always pleased to see a reduced calorie cola - Pepsi Max. The beach below the hotel is used by locals. It’s a small sandy bay that’s nice for swimming. Although it’s a little tricky climbing over the rock boulders to reach it (for me anyway!) and steep steps back up. There are no sunbeds, but these can be found on the next beach along, a five minute walk away. We always found beds around the small pool. The upper area has no shade, which isn’t great if it’s very hot. Other guests enjoyed baking in full sun, but I preferred the shade around the pool. Great views of the area from the pool too. The hotel has many local shops and restaurants around it. We walked into the new town, plenty of shops, but not much to see. Other guests visited Sunny Beach which was easily reached by boat or bus. It didn’t appeal to us, but we did visit Burgas city for the day which was enjoyable. We are chatty and friendly people, but found the welcome from staff mixed. The guest relations manager was wonderful, whilst other staff wouldn’t smile at us. Regardless, I’d recommend this hotel. The location cannot be beaten.

Room : uncomfortable bed. Did have a sofa bed but that was no better. Cleaner came every morning and left the door wide open. Didn't clean !!!. Hotel: The only think positive about this hotel is the location. Different themed food every night. Meaning not changing dishes. Just changing the seasonings. Food all cold. Ended up eating out. Food not edible. As advised they have multiple bars and entertainment. Only 2 bars open . 1 night of entertainment. This is an adults only Hotel. It wasn't!!. Sunbeds dirty. Freezing cold pool. Couldn't even get in it. We was welcomed by the porter . Can't remember his name. We asked him to leave several times. He kept rubbing his fingers together. Ended up pushing him out the room. Very intimidating.

Sol Marina Palace Nessebar Massive let down! After reading the glowing reports about this hotel we were really looking forward to our holiday. Well after a day I was beginning to wonder if we were in the same hotel as the one we had read about. Yes it is in a good location with wonderful views from the rooftop bar and pool. However the self serve pool bar was not in operation and although there were plenty sunbeds there were not enough mattresses to go on them. The matresses were very thin and a large number of guests were using two to make them more comfortable but this resulted in some guests being unable to use the beds. There were 4 chairs by the pool, one was broken. Having read so much about the wonderful 7 course tasting menu in the rooftop restaurant we were looking forward to booking this, but unfortunately we found out that this had finished the week prior to our arrival although was still listed on our AI information sheet at check in. The Melia website stated Hotel Sol Marina Palace, adults-only hotel in Bulgaria . It wasn't adults only. The food in the restaurant was not good. Each night was supposed to offer a different theme, not really a noticeable difference in the offerings each night. 3 nights running the show cooking was burgers and sausages. One evening the show cooking was pork steaks but they ran out less than an hour into service and out came the sausages and burgers. Rooms very much the luck of the draw. The higher floors overlooking Nessebar had lovely views, we had booked a side sea view room and initially didn't receive this. We were told by the guest manager we'd have to pay a lot of money to upgrade. Another room we were offered was awful smelling of damp and with absolutely filthy plastic patio furniture. The Jet2 rep sorted this out and we were moved to the side sea view room we had booked and paid for. The difference in the standard of the rooms was incredible. The carpets in the hallways were in a very poor state, trip hazards everywhere. The downstairs bar was pleasant enough and bar staff great but let down by the outside terrace where again the flooring was ripped in places and quite dangerous. The Jet2 rep agreed that the hotel did need a bit of work. She was extremely helpful and knowledgable about the area.

This hotel was smaller than the one's we usually stay in, we were not disappointed! We had a lovely view of the old town of Nessebar, the hotel is spotless, we enjoyed the food and thought there was plenty of choice and variation. My husband needed a Dr during our stay.... the staff on reception couldn't have been more helpful and I cannot thank them enough. We will be back 😁

Beautiful room with sea views, & amazing views from food top pool too. Excellent location just 5 mins walk over causeway to the fabulous ‘old town’ & 5 mins in opposite direction to a lovely beach. Good choice of food & drinks, no Q’s for either or for sunbeds + friendly, helpful staff. A great stay!

Just arrived back from an 11 night stay. Room and bathroom very spacious and kept spotlessly by our lovely Tanya. Bed linen and towels changed regularly. Nice ro have a ketyle and fridge in the room. Hotel is very well positioned for both the old and new Nessebar and bus stop almost outside the hotel. We found the staff to be fine, especially the dark haired lady on reception who tried to help us when our transfer back to the airport was very late. If you speak to them, say please and thank you etc then they acknowledge you, I think they are just a quiet nation. The swimming pool although lovely was freezing cold and the sunbeds definitely need some new pads as the ones provided were VERY thin and very stained. I'm sure in high season there definitely would not be enough beds to go around. Drinks in the Sky bar were good, especially the G&T's, cocktails were ok but a bit too sweet for me. Nice to have coffee and hot chocolate all day and night, nice to have a nice hot chocolate and brandy as a night cap. Now for the food! I'm sorry to say it was not the best, very repetitive and luke warm at best. Every day was themed but you would never know apart from the Italian day when there was pizza which was actually very nice and I don't really mind cold pizza! If there hadn't been a little statue of the Eifel tower you would have no idea it was a French themed day. We did enjoy the gourmet night where the food was served to us and was very tasty. To sum up I did like the hotel very much but unless the food was improved immensely I wouldn't return or recommend it, sorry.

I can’t even put in to words how we feel write now. Who gave this hotel a 4* rating??? Rude and unhelpful staff, threatened to call the Police on us, we are a party of 11 people all in the 50s with family’s, careers etc not some drunken yobs. We don’t shout screem or give abuse, but boy did we get it. Last time using this place and Jet 2 the rep was as much use as the Hotel staff.

Good location next to old town. Wonderful views from the hotel roof skybar. Walking distance to the beach and local shops Bar staff and cleaners very friendly. No queues at bar and self service drinks at meal times. Rest of the staff miserable as if they don't want to be there. Food either cold or luke warm. Offering a microwave in the dining room is putting a sticking plaster over the problem than addressing it. The complementary seven course dining on the roof was a very pleasant experience and definitely recommend even though food was based on buffet food it tasted better as it was presented so nicely. Guys serving were friendly and attentive. The hotel rooms and bathrooms are in need of a update as they are a bit shabby. Beds uncomfortable
