Very disappointed again no restaurant available (closed) after a long drive. The hotel or hotels. com should make it clear on website

We stayed here for one night on our way from Spain to England. The location is beautiful with lovely grounds surrounding the property. A real bonus! The staff were kind and friendly and the room, a family room with a double bed and two singles, had the benefit of the two singles (actually a double and a single) being in a separate, adjoining room. Perfect for our two teenage children. The rooms were basic but very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept extremely well. The whole property, actually a series of separate buildings, felt a bit like an abandoned boarding school, but not in a bad way, just a little unusual. We presumed that they mainly cater for large groups. We dined in the restaurant, which has a set menu. The food was tasty and the young man who waited on us was delightful. We also had breakfast the following morning with delicious croissants, yoghurt, brioche, meats and cheeses and jams and honey. Good coffee and a selection of juices and an equally delightful young lady to help with anything we needed. All in all it was an extremely comfortable and beautiful place to stay. The location was the perfect stop over distance and we would all be very happy to stay again.

On arrival property appeared closed and is set within a nursing home. Restaurant closed, bar closed. Host breath smelt of cigarettes!!! Not a hotel to choose!

Cet établissement est très confortable et bénéficie d'un environnement exceptionnel. Néanmoins de gros progrès sont à faire en terme d'accueil : impossible de joindre l'établissement par téléphone, seul le répondeur semble fonctionner et les messages ne sont pas suivis d'effet. Une personne de l'accueil devait venir nous aider à résoudre un problème technique dans notre chambre, nous ne l'avons jamais vue et quand je suis retournée à l'accueil voir ce qu'il en était j'ai trouvé porte close. Enfin le lendemain midi j'ai été appelée pour m'informer que je n'avais pas rendu la chambre à midi comme prévu alors que j'avais restitué la clé à 7h30.... Je tiens toutefois à préciser que le reste du personnel tant au restaurant qu'au bar a été très serviable et compétent et que la chambre était très confortable Autre point négatif : la situation de l'établissement sur maps est erronée. Venant à pied par le GR31, aucune signalétique ne nous a permis de nous orienter.
