After much deliberation, I chose this hotel, ranked number one on the New Orleans design charts!
High expectations, very disappointing!!!
1. The hotel itself is relatively new, but the rooms were very dirty and old. (The toilet door was broken and couldn't be closed.) It looked drastically different from the online pictures. (See picture below.) Only the lobby was truly beautiful and photogenic, but when staying at a hotel, the room itself is more important, right?
2. The hotel had no cold/warm water, only scalding hot water! I scalded my skin while showering; it turned very red and blistered. Luckily, I had saline solution with me, which helped relieve the itching.
Hotel staff admitted their water system had a problem, hence the lack of scalding hot water. Because most of the hotel's guests are older American men with relatively thick skin, the hotel hasn't taken this issue seriously.
If you are a Chinese woman like me with thin skin, please choose this hotel very carefully, or contact the hotel beforehand to confirm if the water system has been repaired.
