The Ramada Encore Shanghai Pudong Airport Hotel is perfect for travelers catching early morning flights or arriving late at night. The hotel offers a 24-hour free shuttle bus, running approximately every half hour, a mere ten-minute ride to the passenger terminal, making travel incredibly convenient. The rooms are clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding and good soundproofing, virtually eliminating airplane noise and ensuring a good night's rest. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient, handling check-in and check-out quickly. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, ensuring a satisfying meal. Free parking is also available for guests, making it convenient for those driving. Overall, it offers excellent value for money and is an impeccable transit hotel at the airport. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I were transiting through Pudong Airport, and I highly recommend it to travelers with overnight layovers.

This is best hotel i ever lived in Manhattan. this is good place to live, 5 mint walk to time square. Lady at reception area, behaviour is not good. i arrived at hotel little early 11 AM and check in time 3. i told her i took 12 hour flight, give me room early she said at 3 and then after one hour i told her. she again said check in time is 3. after few mints i go to other counter to male, he immediately give me room key. i don’t want what is problem with her.

This hotel near the airport was much larger than I expected, even bigger than the Hiltons in Manhattan. It came standard with a coffee machine and drip coffee. There's a restaurant/bar on the first floor offering hot food, and the breakfast there is quite extensive, with omelets and boiled eggs. The shuttle runs every twenty minutes and is usually pretty empty, so it's very spacious.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the beds were genuinely restful. Breakfast was decent — nothing extraordinary, but a solid start to the day. What significantly soured our stay was a complete lack of transparency around their deposit policy. At no point during the booking process were we informed that a $250 security deposit would be required upon check-in. This came as a shock when we arrived at our room and were told we had to hand over $250 upfront. Making matters worse, we were told the refund would take 7–10 business days to process. For travelers on a budget — or simply anyone who doesn't expect $250 to be tied up without prior notice — this is a serious inconvenience. As of writing this review, the refund has still not been returned to us. Hidden fees and undisclosed charges are a dealbreaker. The room quality is good, but hotels have a basic obligation to be upfront about costs. I'd recommend they update their booking process to clearly communicate this policy. Until then, travelers should be prepared to have $250 held without warning.

The snack bag was great. Location and free shuttle from LGA was convenient. Ice machine on my floor was broken but I was able to find ice on next floor. Reported the situation.

The room is too old, the quilt should be at least 6 years old, the hygiene is very average, no comparison with Hampton Inn in China, the bed is more than ten years old, reinforced with iron sheets, and it can easily scratch your legs. The elevator button light is broken and no one fixed it during my three-day stay. The elevator ceiling light is also flickering. Many foreigners press the button to go up one floor and then walk down the stairs. There are only two elevators, and the wait time for the elevator is at least 15 minutes in the morning. The advantage is that it is in the downtown area. I will not stay again. I don't understand why it is so expensive. The price-performance ratio is too low. The hotel is located in Midtown East, very close to the UN headquarters. This means there are police cars around, which makes the area feel quite safe and peaceful, with no loitering. Public transportation is also very convenient, with many bus routes nearby. The room isn't huge, but it's just about enough. Breakfast options aren't extensive, but they're sufficient to fill you up. The only thing is that the air conditioning in the back room of the restaurant is really cold. You'd need a jacket if you're going for breakfast in the summer! 😃

The front desk staff were proactive in trying to solve problems, but the cleanliness of the room was disappointing. We didn’t want to know, but we ended up learning the hair color of the previous guest. Having only two elevators was an inconvenience, but the relaxed pace of travel made it more tolerable. The hot water and coffee were really great.

The staff were incredibly friendly and always available at the counter. The location was also excellent for sightseeing, being close to the Whitehall Terminal and the subway. Amenities included a good selection of soaps, and towels were changed, and beds were made daily. The breakfast varied slightly each day, which was very satisfying. My only minor disappointment was the lack of a razor among the amenities.
