Hilton New York Times Square

We stayed at this hotel for five days but had two separate bookings. Normally, when you check in on the first day, they can assign you one room for the entire five-day stay. However, the front desk told us we had to change rooms once the first booking expired, unless we upgraded our room type on the spot. At the time, I found it strange but assumed it was because our two bookings were for different room types, so I accepted the room change. The next day, after we had packed our belongings and went to the front desk to switch rooms, a different front desk staff member told us that both bookings were for the same room type and we could have just stayed in the same room. We ended up packing our luggage for nothing, and the front desk person on the first day was clearly misinformed or unhelpful. The hotel itself is average, but the views from the higher floors are decent.

I checked into the hotel at 10 PM. Because my original room was fully booked, they upgraded me to a twin room on the 41st floor. However, when I opened the door, the room was a complete mess. The only other room available was a king room on the 40th floor, and they said they would immediately send up a twin-sized bed. But it wasn't until 11:50 PM that the bed finally arrived, after I had called the front desk twice and even had Trip.com customer service intervene. This exact situation happened to me eight years ago too. Back then, I also arrived late at night to find a room with piles of leftover takeout containers on the table. It seems their management has consistently been lacking. 😔

The location is fantastic, right in Times Square, making it super convenient to get around! The room size was just right too, and it's easy to catch a Broadway show or grab a bite nearby. You can simply walk back to the hotel after a performance!

My top choice for a Manhattan hotel! It's so close to Times Square yet still quiet. Seriously, don't book a Hilton right in Times Square; it'll be incredibly noisy.

The lobby is on the second floor, and you can store luggage on the first floor. There's a 250 deposit. It's clean and comfortable, though the room doesn't have coffee or similar amenities. The best part is the superb location, just a stone's throw from Times Square.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right in New York's Broadway area, next door to the 'Aladdin' theater and Madame Tussauds, and directly across from a Target supermarket. Times Square is about a 10-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, catching a show, or taking the subway. The rooms are quite spacious and well-equipped. Although there wasn't an electric kettle initially, the front desk provided one upon request. However, the room lacked disposable slippers and toiletries, which didn't align with the booking agreement. From the room window, you can enjoy a nice view of the Hudson River. There's also an elderly gentleman at the front desk who speaks Chinese, which made communication very easy. Parking at the hotel is very inconvenient and expensive; valet parking costs $95, and you need to book your car an hour in advance.

The hotel's location is great, near Times Square and not far from Manhattan's various attractions. However, the facilities are a bit dated, and the service is just average. During my 5-day stay, housekeeping missed one day (they came at 8 AM, I asked them to come back at 11 AM, and they never did). Bottled water isn't provided in the room, but you can ask the front desk for it. One day when I asked, they actually suggested I drink the tap water from the room (they seemed reluctant to give it). Given the environment (the street outside is crowded and a bit chaotic) and the amenities, the hotel price is quite high. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you really love Times Square.
