Phoenix Border Town Mountain Wilds Resort Homestay | A Wabi-Sabi Aesthetic Dwelling Hidden in Nanhua Mountain
【Built Along the Mountain, White Cubes Between City and Wilderness】
Nestled at the foot of Nanhua Mountain in Fenghuang Ancient Town, the homestay leans against rolling green peaks and faces the bustling charm of the ancient town. Modern white geometric buildings, like unpolished jade, are embedded in the mountains. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows draw greenery indoors, where minimalist lines harmonize with natural textures. At dawn, push open the window to see mist drifting over bamboo tips; at night, lean on the railing to watch ancient town lights interweave with mountain shadows—creating a vacation vibe of "being away from the city yet not far from the scenery, finding peace the moment you enter the mountains."
【Wabi-Sabi as the Brush, Sketching the Aesthetics of Mountain Life】
All guest rooms take "nature, simplicity, tranquility" as their design core, using natural materials such as logs, rammed earth, and linen, paired with low-saturation tones and the art of negative space to create the unique warm texture of wabi-sabi style. Every room is equipped with:
Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows: Framing Nanhua Mountain’s greenery and the ancient town’s skyline into a dynamic scroll;
Viewing terraces: Some rooms feature courtyard or mountain-view terraces, perfect for enjoying breezes, listening to rain, or stargazing at night;
Family-friendly vacation rooms: Specially designed with "tree-hole beds," "children's tents," and "safety railings," along with picture books, educational toys, and family-friendly bathroom supplies—infusing family getaways with childlike joy.
【Thoughtful Services for a Worry-Free Mountain Vacation】
Free shuttle service: Offers free scheduled pick-up and drop-off at Fenghuang Ancient Town’s core scenic areas and high-speed railway stations, eliminating travel hassles;
Localized experiences: Butlers can customize "ancient town slow tour routes" or "Nanhua Mountain hiking guides," and arrange activities like bamboo weaving workshops or Hmong sour fish soup cooking classes.
【Dual Dwelling: A Step from Hustle, A Step into Serenity】
Natural exploration: A 5-minute walk leads to Nanhua Mountain National Forest Park, where bamboo trails, century-old trees, and mountain streams form a paradise for family hiking;
Ancient town discoveries: A 10-minute drive reaches Fenghuang Ancient Town, with attractions like Tuo River boating, Hongqiao night views, and Shen Congwen’s former residence nearby. Retreat to the mountains by day, and immerse in the thousand-year-old Tuo River charm by night.
【Dwell Here, Forget the World】
No traces of noisy commercialization—only the dialogue between white walls and green mountains, and the play of bamboo shadows and light. Whether hiding in the family room’s childlike world with your family, sipping tea on the terrace while watching clouds drift, or counting ancient town lights by the hot spring pool with your loved one, you’ll find the true poetry of mountain vacations in modern wabi-sabi aesthetics.
Booking includes: Free pick-up/drop-off from high-speed railway stations/ancient town, complimentary breakfast for two, 24-hour butler service.
Address: Near Nanhua Mountain Scenic Area, Fenghuang County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture
Tips: The homestay is hidden on the mountainside. It’s recommended to contact the butler for directions upon arrival to start your secluded vacation.
"Super five-star praise, very much beyond expectations, recommend everyone to live!
I thought the hotel was far from the ancient city and it was not convenient to travel. But the hotel has a shuttle bus, go to the ancient city, go back to the hotel to find the housekeeper and driver. It takes less than 10 minutes to get to the ancient city by car. I was moved to return to the hotel in the middle of the night, which is the time for the driver to get off work. After eating a full barbecue, I walked back to the hotel. As a result, many drivers were surprised to see us at the front desk in the early morning and said why not call him and let him pick him up. I said that we think he is off work, did not think about letting the master work overtime, walking back is also very good, but I will still be moved by their meticulous and silent service.
The hotel is located at the foot of Nanhua Mountain, very quiet, and the public area of the hotel is very comfortable. Every service staff I met was very warm and thoughtful. The hotel also has a laundry room.
The room was spacious and bright, clean and tidy, the bedding was very good, the sleep was very comfortable, and the TV was large. The shower appliance is clean and the water is large. Very recommended, invincible price/performance ratio. Really very satisfied.
Thank you also for giving us a free room upgrade and taking care of our needs to delay check-out by 2 hours. Come live next time"
