"This was hands down the best hotel of our entire trip! The staff's service was truly outstanding; they were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel like part of their family. They even contacted us a day before our arrival, and after learning we were taking the high-speed train, they immediately arranged for a driver to get in touch. They also proactively gave us important advice about the high altitude. They went above and beyond to help us sort out so many things, which really smoothed out our trip. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and all the facilities were comprehensive and well-maintained – absolutely no complaints! Highly recommended! I'll definitely be choosing this hotel again on my next visit to Shangri-La!"

"I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so outstanding that I felt compelled to share a lengthy and genuine account of my stay. You can truly feel the quality of a good guesthouse the moment you arrive. They offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off services for both high-speed rail stations and airports, utilizing a Mercedes-Benz 6-seater van. The staff member who picked us up immediately took care of all our luggage, delivering each piece directly to our assigned rooms. During check-in, all the staff greeted us warmly with a friendly ”hello.” Their genuine and unpretentious hospitality truly shaped my first impression of Shangri-La. The room was incredibly well-equipped with everything one could need: a Laifen hairdryer, disposable bath liners, disposable towels and slippers, and disposable toilet seat covers, among other thoughtful touches. I was particularly impressed to find a sewing kit in the amenity box – the owner's attention to detail is truly exceptional. Even the toiletries were premium: L'Occitane Verbena shampoo and shower gel. Their unique, refreshing scent made showering a truly enjoyable experience, and the subtle grassy fragrance lingering in the air was quite soothing and sleep-inducing. There was even a moisturizing lotion provided, perfect for use as a body lotion. The bathroom featured a desirable wet-dry separation and a bathtub; however, they thoughtfully advise against prolonged bathing if you're concerned about altitude sickness. The room was equipped with intelligent floor heating and thermostatic control. The temperature adjusted itself automatically, and once we turned it on, we felt perfectly warm without any dryness in the air. For added comfort, there was an oxygen concentrator by the bed, eliminating the need to purchase separate oxygen canisters. Guests could choose between nasal cannula or room diffusion. The overall decor of the room was very sophisticated, featuring a vintage wooden aesthetic primarily in rich brown and black tones. I found myself taking countless photos upon arrival. To top it off, there were fresh peaches, pears, and oranges thoughtfully placed on the coffee table – another delightful touch that instantly boosted my impression. With numerous windows, every turn offered a new picturesque view. From our room, we could even see the prayer wheels and the Great Buddha Temple, adding to the serene ambiance. If your itinerary allows, you could easily spend an entire day simply relaxing in the hotel, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere and enjoying a truly unhurried pace of life. The guesthouse's service was equally attentive. They offered laundry and drying services, and impressively, our clothes didn't feel damp afterward. The proprietress even thoughtfully folded our laundry, placed it in clean cloth bags, and delivered it right to our room door. Their responsiveness was exceptional; any request sent via message received an instant reply. The owner was always willing to drive us to and from the ancient town in their shuttle, whether it was a rainy day or early in the morning. Our stay in Shangri-La was truly outstanding. If I ever return in winter to witness the 'Golden Mountain under the Sun,' I will undoubtedly choose Puyan Xuanshan again."

"This B&B, which my mom and I chose for our trip, was absolutely perfect! It's located right in the old town but thankfully, in a quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle. They thoughtfully provided complimentary afternoon tea snacks and fresh fruit every day, which was a delightful touch. My mom particularly loved the dairy products; on the first day, she even mentioned wanting to buy some to take home. To our surprise, they supplied them daily! We ended up with so much that we couldn't finish it all and even took some with us – a true testament to their generosity! Haha. In the end, we only purchased some yak jerky.🤭 The owner is incredibly kind and always willing to go the extra mile. I also really liked their toiletries; they smelled wonderful and were very pleasant to use. I will definitely choose this B&B again on my next visit. (I heard they're expanding with a second phase, so hopefully, it'll be easier to book a room in the future!) Wishing the owner continued success! 🫰"

"I travel twice a year, and I've visited Shangri-La at least five times. From 2-star budget stays to 5-star Indigos, this is hands down the best accommodation I've ever experienced among all the hotels, inns, and B&Bs – truly one of a kind! **Pick-up/Drop-off Service:** We contacted the owner upon arrival, and before we even reached the high-speed rail station square, he was already there waiting for us. It was a 7-seater business van, in excellent condition and spotlessly clean. The owner is young and very friendly/chatty. For our departure, we just let the front desk know, and the car was ready to go immediately! **Guesthouse Environment:** It's immaculately clean and looks exactly like the pictures. The courtyard is incredibly cozy, with a lovely garden aesthetic. Many rooms are individual two-story units, which is a rare and precious find in the ancient town! It's perfect for taking photos and you'll get some fantastic shots. There's also a dedicated laundry room (not just a washing machine tucked into a bathroom 😂). It features a washing machine, dryer, a sunny drying area, and laundry powder, liquid detergent, and laundry soap – all completely free! Absolutely free!!! **Room Hygiene:** There are absolutely no overlooked spots or hidden corners for dirt. Along with the dental kits, they thoughtfully provide razors and amenity kits (including cotton pads for makeup removal). All tables and vanity units have corner protectors. Each room has its own dedicated broadband connection and 240 TV channels. Compared to many other places where the TV is just for show, you can really see the attention to detail and care here! **Bedding and Amenities:** This is a major highlight. From the dental kits to the furniture, from toiletries to bed linens and pillows, everything is branded and custom-made. Even the umbrellas provided for guests at the entrance have the guesthouse's logo – they've truly gone above and beyond! **Breakfast:** They offer a Chinese breakfast with congee, eggs, corn, steamed dumplings, grilled sausages, stir-fried shredded potatoes, cabbage, zucchini, and various condiments and pickles. While it doesn't have hundreds of options, for a regular guesthouse not aiming to be a five-star hotel, this spread is excellent! And truly delicious! You can eat as much as you like! The owner eating breakfast with us in the dining area made us feel very comfortable and at ease. **Summary:** The guesthouse is beautiful, the rooms and courtyard are spacious, and it's wonderfully quiet at night, perfect for a good night's sleep. 😂 During both check-in and check-out, staff were eager to help with our luggage! Whether it was the owner, family, or staff, everyone was incredibly enthusiastic – that passion truly makes a difference! There are no goods for sale inside, no advertisements (the owner explained the two small signs at the front desk were for the landlord and Diqing transportation...), and absolutely no disturbances or sales pitches during our stay! The front desk always has complimentary fruits and snacks available to enjoy. I highly recommend it; I personally feel the value for money is exceptional. The owner and his family are all very easygoing, chatty, and always on hand during the stay. Although it's rated as a 3-star, it's certainly not inferior to many older 4-star hotels; in fact, it has many hardware facilities that those older hotels lack! It makes you feel like travel isn't just about accommodation, but more like staying at an old friend's house. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to stay here!"

"This hotel is perfectly situated within the ancient town. It offers parking and an electric buggy shuttle, saving you the hassle of dragging your luggage over the cobblestone paths. The location is truly excellent; if you arrive by taxi, you can get dropped off at the end of the pedestrian street (past the East Gate) and it's only about a 100-meter walk. This makes it incredibly convenient for exploring all corners of the ancient town. I'd particularly like to commend the hotel's thoughtful and user-friendly facilities. So often, guesthouses and hotels prioritize design over practicality, but this place brilliantly manages to achieve both. For example, unlike some minimalist bathrooms that lack even a basic hook for clothes, here you'll find a proper hanger. The showerhead is also a perfectly functional and pleasant one, not some overly elaborate and useless contraption. And the pillows! To my surprise, they use Atour's 'Deep Sleep' pillows. My neck has never felt so comfortable in a hotel bed; I can't praise them enough. Latex pillows truly are vastly superior to others. They even offer a Mango TV VIP subscription, a foot bath tub with herbal foot soak packets, and ensure ample oxygen supply – a thoughtful touch! Plus, disposable bathtub liners are provided. Honestly, they've thought of absolutely everything, anticipating every guest's need. I am truly, truly impressed and satisfied. As a parting gift, they even gave us yak milk candy, which absolutely thrilled my son! It's clear the owner is a local, not an outsider running a guesthouse, which adds to the authentic charm. I wholeheartedly wish them great success and a prosperous business!"

"## Facilities The rooms are very new and fully equipped. They feature an ambient oxygen enrichment system, underfloor heating, and a bathroom heater, so there's absolutely no need to worry about oxygen levels or feeling cold – we didn't even use the oxygen tanks we brought ourselves. The space is generous, and the bathroom has a wet/dry separation. The owner's aesthetic taste in decor is definitely on point. A special mention goes to the washbasin; unlike smaller sinks in other guesthouses where water splashes everywhere, this one is perfectly designed and very practical. ## Cleanliness Impeccably clean. Disposable face and bath towels are provided, though traditional, spotless bath towels and regular towels are also available. Even the bath mat was pristine. I brought my own disposable towel but didn't even need to use it. ## Ambiance The atmosphere is very pleasant and comfortable, with excellent natural light. You could easily spend a whole day lounging around the guesthouse without feeling the need to go anywhere. A fresh fruit platter is provided daily, and fruit tea is available at the front desk. ## Location & Transportation The guesthouse offers complimentary pick-up services from either the train station or airport. Its location is a tranquil oasis amidst the city's buzz, very close to Dafosi Temple and Sifang Street, making it incredibly convenient for both dining out and exploring the city on foot. ## Service The service was absolutely outstanding. The staff were all incredibly attentive, and the driver was also excellent, providing seamless pick-up and drop-off services. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, including barley pancakes and shredded pork rice noodles. A special shout-out: one morning we overslept and woke up at 10:30 AM, but they still prepared breakfast for us, which we greatly appreciated. ## Overall This stay in Shangri-La provided us with an incredibly comfortable accommodation experience. We definitely look forward to visiting Shangri-La again and staying here!"

"The hotel's location is easy to find, with convenient parking. The rooms are newly renovated, clean, and stylish. The front desk staff were also very welcoming and attentive. They even upgraded us to a first-floor courtyard room upon learning we were elderly. This was incredibly thoughtful. Breakfast was average, but the oat milk in the evening was a must-try; it was absolutely amazing. The rich aroma of milk blended with the fragrance of roses and oats made our Shangri-La trip even more enjoyable."

My only minor complaints were that the duvet was a bit too thick, making it feel a little stifling during the night, and there wasn't a dedicated rack for hanging clothes in the bathroom, which was a slight inconvenience. However, the service was absolutely wonderful! The staff were incredibly warm and helpful. They arranged a car to pick us up when we arrived in Shangri-La, and when it was time to check into our next hotel, the owner even proactively offered to drive us there himself, which significantly eased our travel stress."

"This guesthouse truly goes above and beyond! Someone met us at the station as soon as we arrived. Upon arrival, the hostess immediately brought out piping hot rice noodles and sweet potatoes. We were starving, and it instantly hit the spot 😋. Even when we needed to add an extra room at the last minute, the hostess arranged everything perfectly. The rooms themselves are spacious and spotless. On our check-out day, we had an early train to catch. The hostess specially woke up early to prepare a warm breakfast for us to take on the journey – it was incredibly thoughtful! When our pre-booked ride for that morning suddenly cancelled, she immediately drove us to the train station without a second thought – so incredibly kind and helpful. We had an incredibly comfortable stay and genuinely felt at home. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! ✨"
