"This is a guesthouse-style apartment, and 22 Macalisterz has several guesthouse companies operating separately; on Ctrip alone, at least four companies manage units in this same building. Overall, I gave it 4 stars, but comparing it to a 5-star hotel is a bit of a stretch. In a hotel, at the very least, I can call the front desk for whatever I need. In my opinion, I can only give this place 3 stars. The cancellation and modification policy is extremely unfriendly. I booked it 7 days in advance, and when my plans changed 4 days prior, they wouldn't allow any changes or refunds. Then, on the day of check-in, the price dropped by 120 yuan. I recommend watching the price fluctuations and booking at the last minute when the price drops. All in all, this place offers unbeatable value for money. The pool and gym are great, and there's a convenience store downstairs. You can even prepare some simple meals. If the price is comparable to a four-star hotel, I'd suggest finding a newly renovated hotel instead."

"This was a real gem! 🏨✨ Unboxing a hotel with amazing value for money! The room was ridiculously spacious! 😂 ✔️ Two double beds + two single beds ✔️ A sofa and a refrigerator ✔️ Most importantly, there's a huge kitchen! I felt like I could just move in right away! 😆 📍The location is also very convenient. Nearby attractions are just a few minutes' drive away, so getting around is easy. I booked it on Trip.com, and the ratings were quite high, so it was definitely worth it! Of course, there were a few minor drawbacks 🤣 There's a natural alarm clock 🐔 to wake you up in the morning, and the water pipes occasionally make a little noise. Overall, for this price, it's really great! 👍 I'd definitely stay here again!"

"The semi-transparent door in the room is really not family-friendly, and it doesn't close properly, always leaving a 3cm gap. This severely impacts the sense of security. After complaining to the staff, they just put a lock on with double-sided tape, which, while it allowed the door to lock and reduced the gap, still didn't make it close flush. On top of that, the water pressure is extremely low, and the overhead shower is unusable. The staff mentioned that many guests have complained about this, but it still hasn't been fixed. Although there are two air conditioners in the room, one frequently turns off by itself, requiring me to switch it back on multiple times throughout the night, which disturbed my sleep. The light above the bed was also broken and kept flickering. However, the staff were generally friendly, and the hotel itself is spacious and quite clean."

"Centrally located. A new Service apartment located at A McAllister Road. Swimming pool on the top floor was good and scenic, with a nice strong Jacuzzi section. Gym sector was very good. Rooms just nice for three people. Basic cooking facilities available front desk owner responsible for for check-in and check out and validate the parking facility. Any room service problem will need to contact the hotel management in the different number."

"The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped with utensils, and there was even a water dispenser. I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise over the sea from the window in the morning. The hotel isn't too far from the old town, easily reachable on foot or by a short taxi ride. The only downside was the lack of tissues."

"We stayed at this hostel because of its location and the desire to experience living in a colonial house. It's an excellent hostel, one of the best we've ever stayed in. The soundproofing isn't great, but during our 3-day stay, we experienced no discomfort from the street or neighbors. The contactless check-in was particularly impressive. We received all the necessary access information the day before, and the managers were constantly available. The bathrooms and toilets were clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location is superb."

"Double beds are smaller than usual. The second bedroom’s door cannot be opened fully as the bed is obstructing the door so you won’t be able to push in a big luggage. The unit is very new so that’s the saving grace. It comes equipped with a water dispenser but it does not dispense 100 degrees boiling water, max only 85 degrees. If you need boiling water for making baby formula or for drinks, you need to boil the water in a saucepan as no kettle is provided. No bedroom slippers and facial tissues as well. Advisable to consider other operators in the same development for more well appointed rooms."

"The Wi-Fi was broken; I could only connect to the room next door, and the speed was very slow. It's really strange that the room didn't provide slippers. There was no kettle in the room, only a water dispenser that heated water to a maximum of 80-something degrees, so it was impossible to make tea, and definitely not good enough for instant noodles. The room didn't provide tissues, and the toilet paper quality was also very poor. I stayed for three nights, and actually, the entire apartment didn't offer any Chinese-speaking service."

"The room was clean and the view was great. Just remember to turn on the hot water switch as soon as you enter the room for hot showers. You'll need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, as they aren't provided. Also, there's no luggage storage service here; you'll have to go to the building across the street for that."

"Overall, a good experience. The room was nice, and the facilities were good, with excellent service. There are food options nearby, including convenience stores and other shops. They also provide some information for touring Penang."
