New Hotels in Kota Kinabalu

"In Kota Kinabalu, accommodation is generally categorized into two price ranges: above and below 500MYR. For those above 500MYR, there are only a handful of decent options, but they often lack convenient transportation. For those under 500MYR, the quality you get pretty much depends on how much you spend, and frankly, it's a bit of a gamble – a 400MYR room isn't necessarily better than a 100MYR one, it's all down to luck. This hotel, however, gets a big thumbs up from me! The room size is around 15-17 square meters, so not huge, but everything is fully equipped, clean, and tidy, which is super important for a Libra like me. The only minor downsides were the insufficient hot water (though after showering with cool water on the island, even lukewarm water felt warm back at the hotel, haha!). Also, the parking lot behind the hotel had about 15 minutes of noisy trash collection every night. Overall, I'd give it a 4.5-star recommendation – it really blew the competition out of the water! "Modern newly opened hotel with a beautiful, Instagram-worthy design. The overall aesthetic is stunning and thoughtfully done. The only downside is that the curtains/blinds are not fully blackout, so some light comes through in the morning. Other than that, the hotel is stylish, comfortable, and definitely worth staying at for the design and atmosphere."

"Such aesthetic room. Lurve the design very cozy. Got a coffee machine and free top up for the capsule hehe. The location is very strategic because its just a 1 min walk to imago. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Just wish that the they have more amenities to accommodate all the rooms. And wish the room was more soundproof 😉"

"The hotel's location is excellent, just a 1-minute walk to Gaya Street. It's super convenient for dining, snacks, and buying souvenirs nearby. The hotel elevator requires a key card to operate, which adds a good sense of security. However, the room facilities are very basic; there's no bedside table, just a small stool. There's nowhere to put your backpack except on the floor. The bed is also too high. The hotel's cleaning service is quite flexible; you can request daily cleaning or just ask for trash disposal and toilet paper refills, catering to guest preferences. However, you need to inform the front desk before 11 AM daily for these requests."

"The hotel was very comfortable. I stayed here for four days in Kota Kinabalu. It is located in the city center, which is very convenient. It is surrounded by the famous Gaya Street, which is full of delicious food. It was great!"

"Returned for our anniversary. The customer service was excellent; they kindly upgraded us to a room with a bathtub. The original booking had a balcony with a sea view. After the upgrade, we had no balcony, but a bathtub. The view was half building, half sea, which wasn't ideal. Looking down, it was a pool view from the 23rd floor. Next time, I'd prefer the original room type with a balcony, as it's nice to step out and enjoy the expansive sea view."

"This was my first time staying in this unit, and I was a little worried at first because it only had one review. However, after checking in, all my concerns disappeared! This is a newly opened unit, separate from Sigar Homesuites and DecoHome, and it is personally managed by the owner. The self check-in process was very easy, and the owner was polite, responsive, and friendly throughout. The unit was exactly as shown in the pictures, clean, cozy, and smelled really nice upon arrival. The atmosphere was very relaxing and made us feel comfortable right away. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a pleasant stay. Don’t hesitate to book just because it’s new and doesn’t have many reviews yet. "Taking the club access comes with 1)Breakfast (can go either at level 5 or 20) Level 5had more option but more people Level 20 more privacy,less people but the food option is not much 2) high tea Provides some biscuit, and can order drink 3)evening coctail Can consider as dinner I decided to book for the stay purposely for short trip in which i want to fully spend in my room, i would recommed to take if most of time stay at hotel, but if going out to enjoy the city, no need to take club access. During the stay, i tried their in room dining, i order quite a number of menu so it takes quite some time, honestly just typical hotel food with no extraordinary taste, but the view from my room is priceless making dinner become more fun to enjoy.9/10 chance of coming back here."

"The hotel itself isn't bad, but it was incredibly noisy at night. There were people singing karaoke downstairs until the early hours, making it really hard to sleep. Also, the room only had four lights, and to be honest, it was quite dim at night without natural sunlight. On the plus side, there was a large floor-to-ceiling window in the morning, letting in plenty of light. I'm not sure if it's just my allergies, but I felt there was a lot of dust in the room and kept sneezing. Overall, it's suitable for a one-night, short stay. For a longer trip, you might want to consider other hotels closer to the city center."
