Premier Inn Newcastle City Centre The Gate

It was a pleasant stay, and breakfast was good.

Best place to stay as it is just right at the city centre.you can reach the shops in just few steps.room is clean.

I'm currently staying here at Newcastle (The Gate) in a Premier Plus room (105). Check-in was quick & easy, and the receptionist was lovely & informative. Plus rooms are on the 1st floor and are surprisingly spacious. Our room has a huge sofa with cushions, arm chair and a king size bed which is super comfortable. Plus rooms also have a mini-fridge, coffee machine & enhanced bathrooms, which sadly as I'll explain was not up to standard. The bathroom has some odd staining on the ceiling, potentially mould but quite hard to make out. Our room has a bath with glass screen and unfortunately this has a build up of black mould which indicates long-term housekeeping issues. Turning on the bath tap, some black slodge came out which also looked to be mould or dirt from poor cleaning standards over a period of time. Back of the sink tap had the same problem which was disappointing to see. The bedroom itself, however, was very clean but could do with a good dust as there was quite a build up above the headboard. Bar & Block downstairs was excellent. Amazing food at a reasonable price and staff very friendly. All in all a good stay but only giving a 3* because of cleaning issues.

Great hotel, great location. Staff couldn’t be more helpful, very clean hotel and the food in the hotel restaurant was delicious. We were made to feel very welcome by the reception staff, asked for recommendations of things to do while in Newcastle and they gave us some great information.

Great Weekend Away for the football Just a shame about the score! Hotel lovely modern and clean and everyone so friendly from check in to breakfast and leaving bags at check out. Atmosphere at the restaurant was brilliant before the match on Saturday too!

Disappointed that customer service did not address my complaint so feel this feedback is necessary. I’ve stayed here many times before and had no issues but my last visit was awful. Many things happened however what I wanted to address was how filthy it was. Duvets shoved under the bed without any storage bags. Filthy bed side tables and dust everywhere. Very disappointing and made for an unsettled night. Had I not been on my own I would have gone and found another hotel

Great Premier Inn with a great location. Hotel staff professional, friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast is wonderful. Bar and Block staff also friendly and helpful. Car park is Q-Park a 3 minute walk. Recommended for any Newcastle stay, and will return soon.
