Best Western Wakefield Hotel St Pierre Reviews

This was our second stay here and we enjoyed it the same as last time. The reception area is bright and welcoming. The staff were pleasant too. This area leads into the bar area which again is is bright and airy with comfortable seating. You can buy meals here and breakfast was served here too. Much nicer than the restaurant which is rather dark. The food was very good with a good choice for breakfast. We also had an evening meal and that was very good too. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The only downfall of the bedrooms is that they are too dark. There are no ceiling or wall lights only lamps. This is not too bad at this time of year but last year in November was a problem. I would still stay here again though.

Staff were excellent, room not quite up to the mark. Room really needs an overhaul and update. Noise from neighbouring rooms was also an issue. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Parking was very convenient.

I cannot believe I’m writing this review, but here we are!!! We have stayed here plenty of times and never had an issue. It meant that much to us that my partner and I booked our wedding here. Everything was going great but a few weeks ago I noticed on social media they had gone quiet and posted nothing. But thought nothing of it at first, now at 38 weeks pregnant I find out my wedding is cancelled…. Through my Auntie, not the hotel, my AUNTIE!!! They didn’t even have the audacity to call me. All the while, last week the wedding coordinator reassured me it was ok for guests to start booking rooms!!!! They must’ve known. If she’d not rang I’d still not known!!! We are truly devastated. Luckily for us we have found another venue at a lovely manor in Leeds. A lot CHEAPER!!! So a blessing in disguise really. Mel the head wedding co ordinator didn’t even seem ****d when my partner Stuart rang up to see if what my auntie was saying wasn’t a misunderstanding. All he got was a “it’s nothing to do with me” well I’m sorry but it’s a lot to do with you!!! Please avoid this place when or if it should reopen!!!

Just a couple of days before my reservation I rang the hotel direct for some more information about the booking and then to be told that my reservation was cancelled because the hotel was closed. No information was send to me about this. I had to go and find other accommodating so I could still attend my daughters wedding party

A quick overnight stop as I had a meeting in Leeds the following morning. The staff at this hotel were all incredibly friendly and really helpful. Due to some delays I arrived in the middle of the night but was still able to get checked-in thanks to the night porter. The breakfast was great and the overall stay was amazing value for money. The hotel is a bit tired in places but the bed was comfy, the shower was hot and the view out of the window across the fields was an unexpected bonus. I stay in a lot of budget chain hotels in the course of my travels. This hotel was comparible in price, but a much nicer place to spend the night and definitely with a better breakfast.

We had a two night stay whilst visiting friends and attending a christening. Saturday night we ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious, friendly service and the food was fresh and hot. Got talking to a few couples in the bar and had a lovely night. Sunday night we hadn't realised there was no food on but the staff Mel and Caroline couldn't have done more to help us as we had been out all day. They offered to make us pizzas and even give us local takeaway details if we didny fancy pizza. We finally settled on a Chinese but when we rang they couldn't deliver and Caroline drove us there to collect it. An example of going above and beyond for your guests. We were even able to have a late clock out in case we needed it before out journey home. The staff couldn't have done enough and really made the experience at this hotel thank you. Hotel room was spacious, comfortable and clean only thing I would change would be the pillows they were very hard and uncomfortable but it didn't spoil our experience at the hotel. If we are in the area will definitely stay here again

We come here every three months to catch up with family. It’s like home from home. The staff are always helpful and pleasant. It’s great! The area is superb and you can go for a walk around the Dam in lovely scenery. You can eat at the hotel, the food is very good and there’s other places too for a change close by. You are spoilt for choice.

The hotel is in a great location for us to visit family, the staff are friendly. We have stayed at this hotel in Newmillerdam several times before. And no doubt will use it again and we look forward to the walk round the lake.

Excellent hotel - the staff were brilliant - they dealt with any queries or requests with a nothing is too much trouble for them attitude, very attentive. Highly recommended hotel in a lovely area with nice walks in the vicinity.

I had not stayed in this hotel for many years and it was nice to re-visit the place. It is s a little tired and obviously suffered tremendously during covid That said lovely staff, nice freshly cooked breakfast - nice little bar Bed linen a little on the cheap side, they need to invest in nicer bed linen, also the pillows are the cheap and cheerful one again these need to be upgraded. Room are a fair size. Superb value for money Plenty of parking - it is a very popular hotel - I would stay there again, but I will bring my own pillows next time!!!

This is the second stay for us at this hotel and the experience was much better than the previous stay. The hotel was clean and tidy and the room had recently been decorated although there was no smell of new paint. The shower was good and had no annoying leaks or blocked spray holes, the adjustment between the hot and cold mix was working well. The bed was firm but comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep after a long journey. The hotel was quite and no road noise could be heard from our room. The hotel is not too far from the Motorway and is on the edge of the town, our room enjoyed a view over the countryside. Breakfast was cooked to order and was nice and hot when it arrived.

Extra friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay great. Bar, food and breakfast was excellent. Room was neat and tidy (until I got there) and was refreshed each day. Really happy with my stay and will definitely use again.

Stayed one night and so glad it wasn't longer. The room tariff is cheap enough but I can see why - the place is so out dated and desperately in need of significant investment. It looks like nothing has been done to the interior since the place was built and is like a trip back to the 80's. The room was tidy but the bathroom extractor fan was choked with dust and the shower head was 50% blocked and in need of a proper clean. The staff however were very professional and friendly but apart from this I can't say anything else positive. Certainly would not recommend staying here and I will be looking elsewhere when visiting the area again!

Stayed for 1 night. Hotel in real need of refurbishment and a bit souless particulary at night. Positive . Staff lovely and so helpful. Food good. Location excellent for walks and pubs/ restaurants close by.
